This tiny little Italian Greyhound came in for his vaccination and was quite possibly the cutest little patient we’ve had in our hands! 🥹

Frankie was so teeny, he practically fit in the palm of our hands. 🥰

Safe to say, we were all a little bit obsessed! 💚

Bird flu is making headlines, so Better Homes & Gardens asked Greencross Vets what it means for our pets.

Greencross Vets veterinarian Dr Nina shares practical advice to help pet parents understand the risks and take simple precautions.

“Bird flu can infect all mammals, so dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets can all be infected.”

From avoiding contact with sick or dead wildlife to keeping cats indoors and dogs on a leash around wildlife, a few simple steps can help reduce exposure.

Ziggy came in for his castrate last week! 🐶💙 He was just too cute to resist, so naturally, he spent most of the day getting cuddles from the team! 🥰

🖤 A majestic visitor who never should have needed a trip to the vet.

This beautiful black swan was found with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth - a painful and completely preventable injury caused by discarded fishing gear.

Removing the hook required a general anaesthetic, along with pain relief to keep this feathered patient comfortable while we treated them. 🦢

A reminder to all anglers: please take your fishing line, hooks and tackle home with you or use a designated disposal bin. The Victorian Fisheries Authority advises that old fishing line should be placed in bins, or if there are no bins available, taken home, cut up and disposed of in general waste. Their Seal the Loop program also provides dedicated bins for unwanted fishing line, hooks, netting and rope. (VFA)

Discarded fishing gear can cause entanglement, injury and even death to wildlife. A few extra seconds to dispose of your gear properly can make a huge difference. 💔

🐾✨ Stella’s surgery success! ✨🐾

Sweet 11-year-old Stella recently underwent an emergency cystotomy with us to remove bladder stones. 🩺💗

After her procedure and a little time to recover, Stella is now doing amazingly well so far and almost back to being her happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so pleased to see this beautiful girl feeling comfortable and healthy again. 💕

Let’s have a look at little Luna, who was spayed and will thankfully enjoy a comfortable recovery with her new recovery suit! 😊

These suits are short sleeved, zipped and have two Velcro slips for easy unfastening. (And are quite fashionable!)

They come in a range of different sizes & colours for both cat and dogs and can often be a much nicer alternative to a plastic collar - just ask Luna! 🐶

Last weekend vet Geneve, practice manager Rachel, nurses Alisha, Kate and Lianna had the privilege of attending the Sophie’s Legacy Gala — an incredibly moving night dedicated to driving change in the veterinary industry.

For those who don’t know, Sophie’s Legacy was created in honour of Sophie, a young vet whose passing sparked a national conversation about the mental health crisis facing veterinary professionals. The foundation now works to support vet staff, educate the public, and advocate for safer, kinder workplaces in our profession.

It was a night of remembrance, advocacy and hope — and a reminder of why this cause matters so deeply to our industry.
