🚨PARALYSIS TICK ALERT -CENTRAL COAST PET OWNERS

We have recently seen a huge increase in paralysis tick cases across the Central Coast and we cannot stress enough how important consistent tick prevention is for our pets.

Please check that your pet’s tick prevention is up to date and continue performing regular tick searches at home, even when they are on prevention.

We now also offer Bravecto Quantum, a 12-monthly injectable tick prevention for dogs 🐶 This can be a great option for owners who would prefer not to worry about remembering monthly or 3-monthly treatments.

Did you know, on the Central Coast, we don’t have a
“tick season” ticks are active all year round, even in winter! Just because the weather is cooler doesn’t mean your pet is safe from the dangers of paralysis ticks.

Tick paralysis can develop rapidly and is life-threatening, especially in dogs and cats who haven’t had their preventative treatment kept up-to-date. Prevention is ALWAYS better than cure.

✅ Make sure your pet is protected with a reliable tick preventative all year round.
🚨 If you ever notice any unusual signs like wobbliness, vomiting, weakness, lethargy, or changes in breathing or voice/bark/meow, it could be a tick. Even if you can’t find one, they can be hard to spot — so it’s important to act fast.

The sooner treatment is started, the better the outcome for most cases.

Today we said goodbye to our amazing manager Michelle. Michelle has been absolutely phenomenal and we will all miss her dearly 😥. She assures us she will come and visit and we'll be holding her to that! Meanwhile she will be spending more time with her gorgeous fur creatures 💕

From terrified... to treat time! 🧡🐱

Meet LZ (pronounced L Zee). 🥰
Not so long ago, a trip to the vet was incredibly stressful for LZ. He was understandably very anxious and fearful, making visits difficult for both him and his family.
With lots of patience, gentle handling, and an amazing amount of work from his wonderful mum, things have completely changed. ❤️

A big part of that success has been Gabapentin. Given before his appointment, it helps take the edge off his anxiety so he can cope much more comfortably with the experience.

Just look at him now! 😍 Instead of hiding or feeling overwhelmed, LZ was happily exploring the consult room, interacting with everyone, and even enjoying a Churu treat while we chatted. He's a completely different cat!

Many owners worry that giving medication before a visit will "dope" their cat up. In reality, for many anxious cats, Gabapentin simply helps them feel calmer and safer. It allows us to examine them with far less stress, making the experience much more positive for everyone involved.
If your cat gets frightened, hides, growls, or becomes stressed at the thought of coming to the vet, please let us know. We'd much rather help make the visit as fear-free as possible than have your cat (and you!) dread every appointment.

A calmer cat means a happier visit, a more thorough examination, and a much better experience all round. 💙

A Little Clinic Update 💙

From this Saturday onwards, Bonded Hearts Clinic will no longer be open on Saturdays for the foreseeable future.

This decision hasn’t been made lightly, and while we’re making this change to best support our team and continue providing the highest standard of care, we also understand that our Saturday appointments have been incredibly valuable to many of our wonderful clients.

We’re hopeful that, in the future, we’ll be able to reopen our Saturday hours. Until then, we’ll continue to be here for you during our regular weekday hours, providing the same compassionate care and support you’ve come to know and trust.
