Just like humans, colder weather can make arthritis symptoms worse for our furry friends. Winter can increase joint stiffness and discomfort, especially in older pets. As we move into the winter season, here are a few ways you can help keep your pet comfortable:

🐾 Keep them warm with cosy bedding and warm sleeping areas
🐾 Gentle daily exercise helps keep joints moving
🐾 Avoid slippery surfaces where possible
🐾 Keep their nails trimmed short to avoid further pain and discomfort when walking
🐾 Maintain a healthy weight to reduce pressure on joints
🐾 Consider joint supplements if recommended by your vet

Watch for signs such as stiffness, limping, difficulty standing, or reluctance to jump or climb stairs. If you notice your pet slowing down during the colder months, a check-up with one of our vets can help make sure they stay happy and comfortable all winter long.
