Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes.
Frida’s health declined suddenly over the last few weeks with her lung cancer returning. 8 months after losing Jeanie, it’s been a very tough time.
I will be working as usual as it’s a good distraction for me but please be patient with me.
Having Frida at work with me was one of my favourite things, watching her greet everyone, watching her beg for Alicia and Ella’s lunch, her barking alerts for customers when I was out the back. Wherever I was, for the last 15 years I knew Frida was right beside me or behind me or looking at me. It’s a strange feeling to come to terms with to know she gone, I don’t know when it will feel real.

After a traumatic car accident in 2008 I wasn’t able to do the work I’d always done and four paw took me on as a volunteer before hiring me! I love the girls at four paw so much and owe them a big thank you for being so welcoming and helping me find a new passion!
Having my own salon was always a crazy dream that didn’t seem achievable, it’s such a please to come to work everyday.
Though the shop takes all my time and I don’t schedule enough time off (🤣) I really am happy to do what I do and I love you all for being my clients! Some of you I’ve known for over a decade now and I truly think of you as my friends. 🫂

Happy 2026!
I hope everyone’s been enjoying their holiday and having a good rest.
I’m hopeful 2026 will be a more blissful year for me, with less stress and lots of fun time with my friends and pets!
I appreciate all of you, I truly do. This job is stressful, it’s emotional, it’s exhausting at times honestly. I love what I do and I’ve been doing it quite a while now. I have to understand that my experience and skills mean something and. From now on, doggies with behaviour issues will be charged the specialty fee, I have always had the specialty to fee in my price list and I’m always too nervous to charge it which is silly!
I’m good at what I do, but some dogs take more time and need more hands! Which means Ella and I are at risk of injury and I need to charge accordingly.

Breed clips and any hand sc******ng will also be charged the specialty fee, it takes me more time plain and simple.

Small grooms will now also start at $105, $99 is just not enough to cover costs.

Keeping this business afloat is really stressful, we break even and sometimes hardly do that. I want this business to survive but bills and fees go up all the time I’m gonna go grey! 🤣
