The trial results are in, and we are very pleased.

Six dogs and their owners spent the past few weeks feeding Ranges Raw and telling us what they thought. The scores were strong. The honest feedback was worth even more.

Every comment has gone back into the recipe. The food we launch with is improved and that is thanks to these dogs and the people who love them.

We care about the wellbeing of every dog on Ranges Raw. That is why we tested before we sold, and why we will keep listening after we launch.

Your dog’s stool is the most honest feedback you’ll get on their diet. In this video we cover what good looks like, what to watch for, and why the switch from kibble or cooked food to raw should never happen overnight.
The gut adjusts to what it’s fed. Change everything at once and you’ll usually see it at the other end. Transition gradually, over 7 to 10 days, and give the gut time to catch up. The same logic applies when rotating between proteins.
Every Ranges Raw meal is built with the gut in mind:
Psyllium husk. Soluble fibre that absorbs water in the gut, supporting firm, consistent stool.
Pumpkin and carrot fibre. Gentle plant fibre that adds bulk and feeds the gut bacteria doing the real work.
Brewer’s yeast. A source of B vitamins and beta-glucans that support a balanced gut environment.
Blueberries. Polyphenols and antioxidants that support the gut lining.

We're halfway through our pre-launch trial, and we wanted to share how it's going.

Before we launch, we're feeding Ranges Raw to a trial group of dogs for a full month. Every week their owners fill in a simple scorecard for us. They rate five things out of 5: appetite, energy, coat, stools and scratching. They also tell us what changed, their best moment of the week and anything that's worrying them, in their own words.

Why those five? Appetite tells us if dogs actually want to eat it.
Energy tells us how they're feeling day to day.
Stools tell us how well a food change is sitting with them.

Coat and scratching change slowly, so we watch those over the whole month.

So, how's week 2 looking?
Honestly, really good. Every dog has scored appetite 5 out of 5, every single week. Energy is high across the group. Stools are mostly great, with a couple of dogs still settling in after the switch, which is completely normal. Coat and scratch scores are steady, and we'll share those properly once the trial wraps.

For the next four weeks, ten very good boys & girls are doing something important.

They are the first dogs to eat Ranges Raw. Our meals, in homes across Victoria.

Before we launch, I wanted honest answers to simple questions:
Do all dogs love it as much as mine?
Is there anything we can make better?
Is there a noticeable improvement in their general wellbeing?

So instead of guessing, we are asking the experts, the dogs themselves, and the people who know them best.

Their owners will be sending me photos, videos and feedback every week. The good, the bad, all of it. Every bit goes into making the food better before we launch this spring.

Because the goal is to launch a product that delivers on its promise: healthier teeth, coats, ears, guts, joints and butts.

Every Ranges Raw meal is a complete diet formulated by a registered animal nutritionist, and a lot of what goes in is there to support skin, coat and healthy digestion:

I didn’t set out to start a dog food company. I set out to stop my own dog scratching.

What I didn’t expect was how many owners I’d meet who’d done everything right, the trial, the vet derm, the expensive bag with the unpronounceable protein, and were still stuck.

The pattern kept showing up: the food had changed, but the thing the dog actually reacted to hadn’t.

That’s the bit that’s stayed with me, and it’s why I’m building this the slow way. Single protein, verified per dog, nothing hidden. I’d rather tell someone “kangaroo isn’t novel for your dog, start with venison” than sell them the wrong bag.

Here's what no one tells you about food allergies in dogs.

Fresh food is a real step up from kibble. But if your dog made the switch and is still itchy, the issue might not be how the food is made. It might be what's in it.

Most fresh dog food, cooked or raw, still runs on chicken, beef and lamb.

If those are the trigger, changing the cooking method won't do much. A protein the immune system has never encountered is a different story: no prior exposure means no immune memory, which is the whole idea behind a novel protein diet.
