⭐️Meet Taco! 🌮 The 4-month-old Silky Terrier who accidentally fractured her heel bone. 🦴

🐶Taco was playing with her wonderful pet parent when she suddenly leapt from her lap and took a tumble. This unfortunately led to a limp in her back left leg.
Concerned for Taco’s sore leg, her mummy immediately brought her in to see Dr Megan who took care of her; suggesting radiographs to see if there was any serious damage to her leg.
As you can see on slide two, Dr Megan quickly discovered the fracture in the Taco’s ankle.
We were very fortunate to have Dr Alen Lai ( Vet Specialist Surgeon) in the building to review Taco’s radiographs.
The fracture was in an awkward spot and was very delicate given Taco’s tiny size. Unfortunately Taco required surgery and a tiny plate was needed to stabilise the fracture in order for it to heal correctly.

We were very thankful Dr Alen Lai was able to do this procedure on the day at 4 Paws so Taco did not need to be transported elsewhere and could go home that very day!

Taco is now on her healing journey to make a full recovery.
Her home care instructions required a lot of rest, no jumping or strenuous exercise for 4 weeks.

Rosie had an eye lump mass removed by Dr Victoria. She was able to create two wedge shaped incisions, remove the mass and suture it back together.
These masses, although little can long term can potentially cause irritation, corneal ulcers, affect tear production or rub against the eye. For Rosie have this surgery will long term keep her eyes from any sort of discomfort and keep her vision clear!
