🐾 Happy Veterinary Nurse Day! 🐾

Friday 8th of October we celebrate the incredible veterinary nurses who work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines. 💙

From early mornings to late nights, cleaning kennels to comforting frightened patients, assisting in surgery to holding hands with worried owners — vet nurses truly do it all. We give our time, energy, hearts, and sometimes a little bit of blood, sweat and tears! 🩺🐶🐱

To all the vet nurses: thank you for everything you do. Your compassion, dedication and hard work make such a difference to every patient and every family who walks through the clinic doors.

And from the owners who see how much you care — we appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

Happy Veterinary Nurse Day to the absolute legends who keep our pets happy, healthy and loved. 🐾💐

🚨 Tick paralysis alert for pet owners! 🐾

We’ve seen an increase in tick paralysis cases this week, with 5 cases treated in clinic. Please make sure your pet is protected with regular tick prevention.

Check your pets daily for ticks, especially after spending time outdoors, and contact your vet promptly if you notice signs such as weakness, wobbliness, changes in breathing, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing.

Prevention can save lives. ❤️🐶🐱

It has been 10 years since Ross has been away and he will be taking a well-earned 3-week break in September. 🐾✈️

While he’s away, we’ll have some wonderful locum vets joining the team to cover his appointments, so our patients will continue to receive the same great care and attention.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming Ross back refreshed and ready to go! 💙🐶🐱

🦜 Please don’t feed wild birds — as tempting as it is! 🌿

We all love seeing wild birds up close, but feeding them can actually do more harm than good.

🥖 Human food isn’t healthy for birds. Bread, processed foods and other leftovers can lack the nutrients they need and may cause health problems.

🦠 It can spread disease. When birds gather around feeding spots, they’re more likely to pass illnesses to one another.

🐦 It can change their natural behaviour. Birds can become dependent on people for food instead of finding the varied, natural diet they need.

🏡 It can create problems for everyone. Large groups of birds around homes can lead to mess, noise and conflict with neighbours.

🌱 The best way to help wildlife is to let them stay wild. Planting native trees, shrubs and flowers, providing natural habitat, and keeping pets under control are much better ways to support our local birds.

Enjoy watching them, photograph them, admire them — but please let them find their own food. ❤️🌿

The FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) vaccine is designed to reduce the risk of your cat contracting feline AIDS. It is generally recommended for outdoor cats or those in multi-cat households, as it is primarily spread through bite wounds from fighting. This vaccine is back in stock and your cat will need 3 injections, two weeks apart. Book online from our website hintvet.com.au
