Iron Horse Appaloosa Stud is set in a pretty valley of 120acres on the outskirts of Nelligen NSW. We are passionate about the Appaloosa breed at Ironhorse and aim to, and have been successful in breeding modern type Appaloosa stock from Appaloosa X Appaloosa breeding's. We aim to maintain the integrity of the breed, enhancing bloodlines and producing quality, 6 panel negative foals that speak for

So this morning Dixie ( Ironhorse Spoton Dixie) presented in her paddock with a bad cut on her heel and behind her pastern.

Lucky I have my offsider Hayley (11 yo Granddaughter) to help patch her back up.

Dixie is one of our foundation mares who we have owned for many years and is part of the family.

Rainy day here today. Took a short video of the mares waiting for their breakfast.

I love this time of year where the work slows down and the mares just grow their foals in a herd environment.

Just put 5 weanlings fillies out in the bigger paddock.
All have been out for a couple of months after weaning and had refresher training of hard tie ups worming and feet trimmed.

I must say they remembered all their previous training so out to winter.

A huge experience for Dallas today as we took him to his first show the NPHA show at Sydney.
Not a lot of Appaloosas there but the ones that were there were very high quality.

Dallas ( Ironhorse Best Western) won his c**t class and Amateur c**t class.

Huge thankyou to the sponsor Stillwaterโ€™s Stud for sponsoring these Appaloosa classes.

Thankyou also to the American Judges and everyone who makes shows like this possible.
