Rescue people work tirelessly to save and help every precious soul that comes into their care.
They pick up peices, rebuild trust and show endless love.
They cry in the shower when no matter how hard they fought they couldn't save a life. They cry when they say goodbye as they watch their precious babies go to new homes.
They cry when they see the sick little kitten that has kept them up nights start to play for the first time.
Rescue people are endlessly running on empty, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The love never runs out but the finances always do.
When you want to adopt a rescue animal you have seen on their pages, and you tell them about your home and how you will love them unconditionally,
Please remember that animal doesn't know you, your home, your routine or why it has been taken into this unknown environment.
For the animal, it's scary and they need time to decompress and get their bearings and feel safe.
Then, when given the chance, you will see the loving little creature you were told they were in the post you read about them. With some, there isn't an instant bond. Some make you work for it and it so worthwhile when you give them the chance.
Rescue people advise on how to introduce the new family member to your existing family members. When you apply this information it helps everyone settle so much easier.
Please think of this when you adopt a precious creature from a rescue.
So much love and work has gone into the animals and the people who have dedicated themselves to that animal want the best outcome.
When an adoption doesn't work out, it is so traumatic and a big setback for the animal, it can be hard for the rescue to just take them back immediately as they always have another life waiting for care.
Animal lovers are the best, but we can all learn the best way to care for the needs of all our precious animals.
