Oakley has officially hit 33kgs 😍

How incredible does he look !!

We want to again thank Berwick Veterinary Hospital for guiding us through his recovery these past 5 months. Their knowledge and support has held us together on the toughest of days 🫶

We are so close to finally being able to advertise him for adoption 😍

We just know his forever person is patiently waiting to find him 🤞

Exciting times coming up for this boy 😍

Let us officially introduce you to our beautiful private foster, Oakley 🥰

Oak is a 3 year old Bullmastiff X Staffy who was surrendered into our care 3 months ago. Oak was found in such diabolical conditions by our best friend, we immediately stepped up and offered him a safe space to heal

Oakley came into our care severely emaciated, weighing in at only 24-25kgs 😨
He had pressure sores all over his legs due to being kept long term in a small crate with no bedding 😨

Despite his living conditions, he is such a goofy boy who brings a smile to all who meet him 🫶

We have been working incredibly hard each week alongside Berwick Veterinary Hospital to avoid refeed syndrome and to get him fit and healthy again
As of this week, Oakley is weighing in between 30.5-31kgs 😍

We are working on his manners around the home and out in public, learning how to sniff, play and working on desensitising him to other animals.
He is displaying some resource guarding behaviours and we honestly don't blame him

Despite not being a rescue, this was a case we could not say no to - We have reached out to numerous rescues for rehoming assistance but have had no luck 😭
When the time comes, we need your help in finding his forever people 😍

✨ Oakley is not currently ready for adoption but we are taking expressions of interest ✨

Oakley will need to be in a single dog home, however he does have the potential to live with an extremely neutral dog pending a successful meet and greet.
To live with another dog, he must have owners with large dog and reactivity experience.

We will check back in with another update once he reaches his next goal weight of 32kgs 🫶

Oh Busta 😭💔

This is not how we expected to say goodbye 💔

Our golden oldie was one of a kind
He was 14+ years old, with personality and s***k for days 😍

As he got older, we stumbled across your typical old boy health issues but Bustas family have gone above and beyond in ensuring this boy is cared for and as comfortable as possible. 🫶

On Friday, Busta was tragically mauled to death whilst out for a walk 😭😭😭😭😭

We are utterly devastated 💔
There are no words that could measure up to this loss.
Busta was the bestest boy and our salon will not be the same without him 🥺

We ask you all, to keep Aaron and his family, in your thoughts as they navigate the next coming days 🫶

Our books are open for the first time since 2024 😍

We have a few spaces to fill before we close them again 🫶

This year, we won't take on every enquiry,
We are rewarding ourselves with easy going clients who have their dogs best interests at heart 🥰

After ten years in the industry, we have seen it all - from negligence, to obese or emaciated dogs, dogs with unaddressed severe behavioral issues, difficult and disrespectful clients, the horrors behind backyard breeding, the list goes on.

We were taught to take on whoever, whenever and this year, we have the privilege to be a little picky.
We will always refer you to someone else if we cannot help 🫶

Whilst we have the most incredible clients in 2026, 95% of our books, are poodles mixes 🐩

We love our oodles,
However they are incredibly time consuming if not maintained correctly

We do have a few spaces available for poodle mixes but we are praying for some Pomeranians, Schnauzers, anything other than an oodle lamb cut 😍    

Personally I like to split my day up, with different breeds with different cuts to keep my creativity alive ✨

To receive a permanent spot on our schedule,
• We are looking for kind and respectful pet parents with a treat others how you want to be treated attitude 😍
• Those commited to a regular schedule
• Those who will communicate if they are late, unhappy or need to cancel etc
• Please offer as much information about your dog when enquiring (how long since their last cut, your desired style, any behavioral or health issues etc),

(We have zero tolerance for those who trash talk their previous groomer (especially if you have not discussed with them why you are unhappy)
Everyone has a right to their own preference, but we do not tolerate disrespectful behaviour towards other local salons.)

✨ Luxe Paws in Narre Warren is our ONLY salon ✨

We have no intentions of ever affiliating with another grooming salon.

Our business details remain the same as when we first opened as Luxe Paws in 2022.

I personally, have poured over ten years of blood, sweat and tears into this dream salon whilst battling a devastating terminal illness.

We simply do understand why somebody would want to take credit, for our hard work.

This is a creative industry where individuality, is key.

We are so incredibly disappointed.

We lost our Ash yesterday 😭

Losing our clients never gets easier.
We spend so much time getting to know them, that we are usually the first one to notice that subtle yet ever so silent change within their behaviour and cognition

Ash's mum, went over and beyond in ensuring this lil man had every opportunity to thrive, right up until the end

As Ash declined with his CCD, we adjusted how we approached his groom.
Booking him in as the last appointment of the day to ensure we could take as much time as Ash needed, not aiming for the 'best cut' but ensuring he was comfortable.

Older dogs still need maintenance to remain as comfortable as possible but it is so important that we listen to when they've had enough 🙌

I remember recording our last appointment together as Ash's behaviour was the worst it had ever been and I actually called the groom off for safety concerns

As a groomer, we unfortunately gain this sixth sense knowing when it's our last time together.
The cruelest part of our job 😭

We are beyond grateful for Ash's mum Caroline, trusting someone with your baby in their most fragile years - is the biggest honour 🫶
