Positive Equine Plus Equine Soft‑Tissue Bodywork
Emmett‑based releases & acupressure for performance and pleasure horses. What is Natural Horsemanship ?

Horsemanship Coaching
Groundwork, relationship building & behavioural support. Help maintain and/or improve performance on your horses with Emmett technique therapy. Horses at work, in a long term, can developed poor posture which can lead to mis-alignment of the spine, subject muscles and joints to unnecessary stress, damage the supporting connective tissue and cause long-term pain. Here are some examples of poor posture :
Spinal curve
Kissing spines
Head held too high
Short stepping
Unevenness on reins
and many more...

A good posture is important for the efficient functioning of the body. It keeps joints and bones correctly aligned for a better function of the musculoskeletal system
It minimises abnormal wear of joint surfaces
It decreases stress on ligaments and tendons
It prevents back problems
It ensures muscles are used efficiently and effectively, reducing strain and overuse. It allows optimum functioning of the internal organs and nervous system. Natural Horsemanship is the understanding of the horse's natural instinct and body language. It able us to communicate with the horse in his own language so that he willingly performs his handler's wishes without use of force or cruelty.

This little mustering mare came in short‑stepped, stabby, tail‑swishing and DONE with life 😅
Ears pinned, tense everywhere, holding it all in. She was my 12th horse of the week, and honestly… she made me work for it 😂
But watch the switch👇
A few soft‑tissue releases and her whole vibe changed —
ears soften, breathing slows, body melts.
That moment she finally lets go?
Pure magic 🐎

✨The body never lies.

Hi, Ilona here from Positive Equine Plus!
As an Equine Therapist and Bodyworker, I use different techniques to rapidly free up tight muscles and restore natural movement. It brings back suppleness, balance, and flexibility, resulting in a calmer, more comfortable horse.

I often get asked how to spot when a horse is carrying physical restrictions. Is your horse showing any of these signs?

- Stiffness under saddle
- Stabby front action
- Head up / bracing
- Blocking or refusing the bitLeaning in or out
- Reluctance to go forward
- Not performing like they used to

These are classic signs of tight or restricted muscles. When tension builds up, horses naturally start compensating. That’s when performance drops, behaviour changes, and small everyday issues turn into long-term problems.
This is where specialised bodywork makes the difference

🏇 For Racehorses & Performance Horses

- Before racing/events: Helps them move completely freely to perform at their absolute peak.
- After a gallop or race: Accelerates recovery and significantly reduces deep muscle fatigue.
- After injury: Helps the nervous system release protective tension to safely return to normal movement.

🎥 See it in action:

Check out my new 2‑minute video featuring the recent Eagle Farm & Murwillumbah Cup winner, Golden Cross, showing exactly how quickly a horse's body responds when tension is released!
