Donlea Show Stables

19/10/2026

Took the team of 2 home bred show horses to the SHC horse of the year on the weekend.
Both won their respective Led SHC HOTY . Proud to have them both win but even better they had to battle each out for the Supreme Led of the show.
Donlea Miss Hepburn beat her stable-mate
Donlea Gold Edition.
Many thanks to Terry Hocking for saving my hip and expertly running them out.
Gold Edition then went on to continue in providing a fabulous performance for 3rd in the small HOTY.
Something i just realised, I bred both their mothers who won at this Horse of the Year also.

Thoroughbred gelding OTT
Wow what a gentleman this very lovely big gelding is. Finished racing last week. 16.1 just turned 6 yo. Trainers and owners adored him and were sad to see him finish. This horse just oozes versatility and is genuinely a lovely person. I anticipate he will be a joy to anything u put him to. Had 2 wins in a light career. Retired sound and ready to go on with. Has a lovely trot and canter.
By Shamus Award.

Race name Brellamie Riot
Only has had 1 start! Perfect!
Trainers raved about her sweet nature, great to do everything with. Ride, shoe, rug and float. Does have significant scar over near side knee but purely cosmetic. This little mare has the prospect of success in any field.

Nearly 3 days no internet no electricity, off the grid. Up in the states mid north. Took one of my hacks who i knew would love it. About 40km we rode behind and moved 130 head of cattle. Days/ mornings were cold but weather was brilliant! Even went through old towns with beautiful old heritage ruins left standing with memories. Days of life long gone.
Thanku so much to Bridget Woods and India Woods! And the lovely people we met on the way.
