Calm Crossings, owned and operated by Dr Nina Coulthard, is an in-home pet euthanasia service operating in the Adelaide Hills and surrounds. I believe that after our pets have provided us with comfort, unconditional love, joy and companionship, it is our last act of love to allow them to pass with dignity and grace. It is a great privilege to help you deliver a calm and peaceful passing. Doing this in the familiar home environment, can allow for a more personal, less hurried experience for you and your beloved pet.

I've been a little quiet on socials of late, with work life getting hectic. But all work and no play isn't good for us, so with the recent return of the sun, I took the opportunity to head over to the Grampians to do some hiking and chase some waterfalls!

We met some lovely locals and returned feeling well rested.

An excellent opportunity for the right person to work with a great team!

Today is World Pet Memorial Day—a gentle reminder that love never truly fades. The time we get with our pets is never long enough, but the joy they bring into our lives lasts a lifetime 💚

Sending an extra embrace to anyone navigating the quiet spaces left behind by a cherished pet. Your connection was real, your grief is valid, and their memory is a beautiful legacy.

Love Australian wildlife?

Help protect them by being a responsible cat owner.

Australia is home to some very unique animals. By ensuring your cat is well fed, having them desexed and keeping them indoors (if you can), you are helping to protect native birds, small mammals, and reptiles from being hunted.

Responsible pet ownership isn’t just about loving your cat; it also involves caring for the wildlife and environment, that is shared by all of us.

Together, we can help keep our cats safe and our wildlife safer.

Ever wondered why your cat hunts?

Find out more in our Newsletter Article Template - 'Why does your cat hunt? Understanding your cat’s instincts', which is part of our Cats and Wildlife Education Communications Package.

Three years ago, Calm Crossings began with the hope to provide gentle, compassionate home visit euthanasia for beloved dogs and cats in the Adelaide Hills.

Today I celebrate our third birthday, and it’s only possible because of the incredible families who have trusted me during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Thank you for allowing me into your homes, for sharing stories about your cherished companions, and for letting us help create peaceful, loving goodbyes. It is a privilege I never take lightly.

Your support has helped make Calm Crossings a meaningful and sustainable service, and I am deeply grateful for every family and every pet I’ve had the honour to care for.

Here’s to the lives we’ve celebrated, the love we’ve witnessed, and the gentle crossings we’ve been able to provide. 🤍
