Little Bonny is growing up beautifully and is an absolute sweetheart!

After every milk bottle, she insists on cuddles. No choice in the matter, she just launches herself into my arms and expects me to catch her!

It’s going to be very hard to give this little girl back!

A little insider tip for visiting Hectic Valley Farm!

As we head into the hotter months, the early morning is definitely the best time to visit!

Not only is it lovely and cool, but the animals are usually at their most excited to see everyone. They’re bright, energetic and ready for some attention (and a few treats, of course!).

By around midday, most of our animals have decided they’ve had enough excitement for one day and are looking for a nice shady spot to settle down for a snooze. Can’t say we blame them!

With the warmer weather arriving, we’ll be taking a break from our 11am Farmer’s VIP Guided Tours for now, but our morning experiences will still be running.

We may also have a few special evening experiences coming up, when the temperatures are a little more comfortable for everyone. So keep an eye out!

And a big thank you to one of our lovely little visitors and her family for sharing these beautiful photos with us. We absolutely love seeing the farm through the eyes of our visitors!

They say goats eat everything…
One of our cheeky goats decided to help themselves to a $10 note, and this is what we managed to rescue.
Not sure if this counts as a business expense or a very expensive snack!
Anyone remember that old M*A*S*H episode where the goat ate the payroll money?
Mum made us kids watch M*A*S*H reruns growing up, and I still reckon it’s one of the funniest shows ever.
Anyway, that’s goats for you 🤷‍♀️

Different shapes, different sizes, and a whole lot of personality!

Just another day, where the babies are adorable and there’s always someone keeping a watchful eye on the action.

One guess at who’s the biggest troublemaker out of these three?

It’s been a busy week in the incubators at Hectic Valley Farm!

We’ve got some gorgeous little fluffballs fresh out of their shells and ready for new homes!

Unsexed day old chicks: $18 each

We also have Rhode Island Red pullet chicks, now 4 weeks old and off heat!

Rhode Island Red pullets: $35 each

Perfect for anyone wanting guaranteed girls that are already past the brooder stage!

Our day old chicks will still need a heat source and a cosy brooder to keep them happy.

Some of our campers may have already met this quirky trio!

They’ve officially appointed themselves the Hectic Valley Farm Camp Ducks, and they take their new roles very seriously.

Their daily duties involve waddling from campsite to campsite, greeting campers, having a good old chat, catching up on the latest campground gossip and, most importantly, investigating whether anyone has any good munches and crunches on offer!

They’re certainly not shy, and personal space isn’t really their thing.

So if you’re camping with us and hear a few quacks outside your tent or caravan, chances are the welcoming committee has arrived for a visit!

Now, there’s just one little problem. Our three Indian Runner ducks, two boys and a girl, still don’t have names!

Any suggestions for our cheeky little trio?
