HAPPY VET NURSE & TECHNICIAN DAY/WEEK! 💙🐾

This week we’re celebrating the amazing vet nurses and technicians who make such a HUGE difference at Pet Medical every day! 🩺🐶🐱🦎🐇

From cuddles and comfort to critical care, these incredible humans wear MANY hats! 🎩✨ Their days can include:
🐾 Caring for hospitalised patients and monitoring their recovery
💉 Assisting with surgeries and anaesthetics
🩺 Running diagnostic tests and taking X-rays
💊 Administering medications and providing treatments
🛁 Keeping patients clean, comfortable and feeling loved
🐕 Supporting our rest and rehabilitation patients on their road to recovery
📞 Helping clients, answering questions and providing reassurance
🧹 Keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes (yes, there's plenty of cleaning, too! 😂)
And that's just scratching the surface! From nurse consults to emergency care, these talented team members bring compassion, skill, patience and plenty of love to everything they do. ❤️

They’re the calm in the chaos, the extra set of hands when things get busy, the comfort for worried pets and their families, and the ultimate team players who help make Pet Medical what it is today. 🐾

Who remembers Frank, who starred with Percy in our recent Rest and Rehab video?🎥

Frank the Dachshund has been on one incredible journey with us at Pet Medical. After undergoing surgery for Grade 5 IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), Frank spent an amazing 80 days in our Rest & Rehab program and finally, on Monday, he got to go home. 🐶💪
His family hadn't seen him for quite some time, and it was a very emotional reunion.

Grade 5 IVDD is a serious condition, and Frank’s road to recovery required plenty of patience, dedication and lots (and LOTS!) of TLC.
Over his 80 days with us, Jaz, Caitlyn and Sophie worked closely with Frank to support his recovery, build his strength and help him regain as much mobility and confidence as possible.

From those early days of recovery to seeing his cheeky Dachshund personality shine through again, Frank has shown us just how resilient our four-legged friends can be. 🥰

In the photos, you can see Caitlyn giving his parents a demo on how to do exercises at home.

We are so proud of this little guy and the incredible progress he has made! ❤️

A huge shoutout to Frank’s family for their patience, trust and commitment throughout his recovery journey.

🦎Beautiful Ivy is a 6-year-old Central Bearded Dragon who came into the Muswellbrook Clinic for a health check today with Nurse Amanda. Ivy was very social and was not shy about flaunting her beauty for everyone to admire; even Nurse Chelsea couldn't resist a scratch.🦎

Did you know?
Their beards act like a mood ring.
It puffs out and turns jet black during courtship and territory displays or when they feel threatened.

School Holiday Pet Safety Reminder! 🐾

Need a little extra care while you're away? ❤️‍🩹
Pet Medical has spaces available in our Rest & Rehab facility for pets that need a safe, comfortable place to recover and receive ongoing care while their families are away.

Heading away with your furry family member? 🌴🚗🐶

Before you hit the road, make sure your pet’s tick prevention is up to date. Travelling and exploring new areas can increase their exposure to ticks, so it’s a great time to check that their prevention is current and suitable for them. 🕷️

Be Snake Aware🐍
With warmer weather and more outdoor adventures, remember to keep an eye out for snakes when walking or exploring with your pets. Keep dogs on a lead where appropriate and avoid long grass and areas where snakes may be hiding. If you suspect your pet has been bitten, seek veterinary attention immediately.

Things have been getting a little renovation-crazy at Pet Medical… but we’re excited to finally show off our new-look clinic! 🐈🐇🐈🦎

New consult rooms – fresh, bright spaces for all those cuddles, check-ups and the occasional “I definitely didn’t eat that!” moment 😂

🚗 A brand-new car park – because getting your furry family member from the car to the clinic should be as easy as possible! Plus an awesome ramp for easy access into the new consult room building

🏥 A refreshed Pet Medical – with improvements designed to make visits more comfortable for you, your pets and our amazing team.

There may have been a little bit of dust, with plenty of excitement along the way… but we think it’s been worth it! 🛠️🐾

TICK PREVENTION: PROTECT YOUR PET! 🐾

Ticks can be tiny, but they can cause some very serious problems for our pets. With tick season here, now is the perfect time to make sure your dog or cat is protected. ❤️

🔎 Check your pet regularly – especially after walks, outdoor adventures or time spent in long grass and bushy areas.

💊 Keep up with tick prevention – there is a range of tick prevention products available, including spot-ons, tablets and collars. Our team at Pet Medical can help you choose the right option for your pet.

🐶🐱 Know the warning signs – weakness, wobbliness, vomiting, changes in breathing, difficulty swallowing or sudden changes in behaviour can all be signs of tick paralysis and should be treated as an emergency.

Fun Friday Post!
Nurse Nicole swapped her scrubs for overalls and goggles this weekend for a little Team Penning fun! 💙💛

Dressing up as a Minion and getting into the spirit, Nicole and the team had an absolute blast! 🐎 There was plenty of laughs, teamwork and a whole lot of Minion mischief along the way! 😆 Even the dogs joined in and dressed up.

We love seeing our amazing team members enjoying themselves outside of work and getting involved in the things they love. 💙💛
Nicole wanted to say a big thank you to Pet Medical and Scone Equine Hospital for their support and for donating horse and small-animal gifts for the raffle.

FYI, the Minions won best dressed 🎉
