Such a great cause and a good friend of mine is doing this so please donate IF you can. I always feel so grateful to have healthy children. All children should have access to the best care they can possibly get.

In a moment of silly competitiveness at work I’ve signed up for Steptember to raise money for the Cerebal Palsy Alliance. If you can donate, no matter how small, you’re helping to make a difference.

A few of us attended last night and many of our staff members often go to these. We are constantly learning!! So good to have this as our local “school” as well as our feed suppliers! Thank you Canberra Stockfeeds - Powered by Neigh Hay

What a great night! 🐴❤️

A huge thank you to Tori Jeffress for joining us for another sold-out Neigh Night and giving us so much to think about with The Functional Horse: Movement That Matters.

I think a lot of us walked away looking at our horses a little differently!

One of the things that really stuck with me was just how much the body tells a story. Something that looks like an isolated joint issue, a training problem, reluctance to go forward or even a behavioural issue might actually be part of a much bigger picture.

Tori talked us through how the spine, muscles, fascia, thoracic sling and nervous system all work together, and what can happen when a horse simply isn’t physically strong enough for what we’re asking of them. The body finds another way, and those compensations can start showing up in posture, movement, muscle development and even behaviour.

We also talked about the difference between putting a horse into a shape and actually developing the strength and posture that allows them to carry themselves properly. There were definitely a few lightbulb moments around the room! 💡

Thank you to everyone who came along, asked questions and packed out the room yet again. These are exactly the conversations we wanted Neigh Nights to create - horse people coming together, asking questions and hopefully heading home understanding our horses just a little bit better. ❤️

And next up…

Happy Birthday Kristle! 🎂🐎

A little bit about our only EA Level 2 Coach.

I’m a busy sports mum, competitive showjumper, and level 2 EA-qualified coach, with over 16 years’ experience working with horses and teaching riders of all ages and abilities. I’ve been coaching since 2008 and am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge and supporting the equestrian community, especially grassroots riders who want to build confidence, skill, and a genuine partnership with their horse.

Over the past six years, I’ve invested heavily in professional development, particularly in understanding how the brain learns and processes information, especially in moments of nerves or heightened emotion. This has shaped my coaching style into one that is safe, positive, and encouraging, helping riders work through fear, build resilience, and progress with confidence.

My lessons place a strong focus on the biomechanics and psychology of the horse, ensuring training is fair, effective, and horse centred. I believe in developing thoughtful, confident riders who understand both themselves and their horses creating lasting results both in and out of the arena.

It is disappointing to see how quickly some individuals choose to judge and criticise rather than seek to understand.

I do not feel the need to further explain my previous post, which I have since removed, particularly as comments continued despite being disabled.

TKC was created for the benefit of the community. It is not a source of profit, and there have been times when the mental strain has made me consider stepping away. However, the ongoing support and encouragement from those who know and value what we do has motivated me to continue. My work is driven by a genuine passion for horses and for the people who share that passion.

If anyone has concerns about how I operate, I welcome an open and respectful conversation.

There are many well-regarded practitioners who attend TKC to care for the horses and would be more than willing to speak with you regarding the standard of care provided.

Happy Birthday to all the TKC horses (and Bella)!

We haven’t captured all of them but we are so grateful to have them work so hard for us all.

We love all our TKC horses and hope they enjoyed all the carrots they were given today!
