Well done to our Toodyay group class participants who joined us this morning for a "different" session.
Today we practised STAY, a very valuable skill. We added distractions which included snake bite 1st aid for both the handler and the dog.

I got a bit creative and also asked participants to try to immobilise their dogs and place a blanket over them for warmth, imagining they are in a cold climate, or required it for 1st aid.

Preparation and planning, if we practise we are more likely to operate well under real emergency conditions. No dogs or humans were hurt during the class.

Super proud of all the teams who managed the exercises well and made a mental note of areas they need to work on.

Stay safe out there folks, be prepared, its getting warmer.

Tuesday group class hit the Hills at Pelham Reserve this morning. It can be a challenging walk but the dogs loved it and the guardians survived.
We got to see the Everlastings in bloom, the dogs had a good play and sniff about and we all got some exercise!

Social walks really help these dogs learn to relax in the presence of other dogs, its a good bonding session. Hikes are just one activity we like to do during our group classes.

Great walk everyone, well done.

Last round of our tracking exercise (using bowls) with Mary and Munro during our Toodyay Tuesday group class this morning.
It's been a while since we have done any scent based exercises, so something a bit different for today.
Munro got the hang of it and did really well, expertly guided by guardian Mary.
