🚨 It's happening folks - we're getting quite a number of Stringhalt cases being reported, particularly in the New England Region of NSW where it is dry, dry, dry. Unfortunately it seems that quite a bit of False Dandelion (also known as Flatweed or Catsear) is springing up and horses are eating it in otherwise bare paddocks.

🌱 We're shipping a bottle of the "Stringhalt" herbal remedy by Animal Naturopathics to a customer there today. We have ONE 500ml bottle left before we do a reorder. If you need it, please let us know ASAP so we can get it out to you. Link below.

‼️Remember, regularly check paddocks for weeds, and if your paddocks are bare, try to provide 24/7 access to hay to reduce the chances of horses grazing neurotoxic plants they wouldn't normally touch.

✨ A New Chapter for The Equine Apothecary ✨

You may have noticed that 2025 was a very quiet year for The Equine Apothecary. While orders continued to be shipped across Australia, we weren’t very present on social media as much of our focus had to shift elsewhere for a while.

Early last year, we took on Saddle & Soul Equine Centre, and managing a busy equine centre in the challenging Northern Rivers climate eventually took its toll. Between the constant wet weather, the associated horse health challenges, and the demands of running the centre, something had to give, and The Equine Apothecary was temporarily placed on the back burner.

But that season has now come to an end 🙌

Both The Equine Apothecary and Saddle & Soul Equine Centre have now relocated to Victoria, where we are settling into a far more peaceful environment in Glenrowan.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been patient while we navigated this transition, reduced stock levels to make the move easier, and worked through the logistics of relocating. Your continued support for natural, holistic horse care truly means the world to us.

This next chapter is an exciting one.

Behind the scenes we are now working on expanding our product range, introducing new natural equine health products, and continuing to grow The Equine Apothecary as a trusted resource for horse owners seeking a more natural approach to supporting their horses’ wellbeing.

There are some beautiful new additions coming soon… and we can’t wait to share them with you. In the meantime, thank you for your continued patience while we restock our shelves and prepare for the next stage of the journey.

A little flood update while we're here - we're still in flood recovery mode, so we appreciate your continued patience while we get back on track with fulfilling orders. At the moment we're posting twice a week - Tuesdays and Fridays - but will be back to 5 days a week very soon. 🐴

‼️Attention customers -

Unfortunately The Equine Apothecary has been isolated by flooding associated with ex-tropical cyclone Alfred, so postage of orders will be delayed.

We've been without power, phone service and internet since last week. All services returned today (although we're still flooded in) and so we've only just received your orders.

We are *so* sorry, but shipments will be delayed while we get back online and catch up. Please contact us at [email protected] if you need to communicate with us about your order. Hopefully floodwaters will have subsided soon so we can get the post office.

We appreciate your understanding and again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

So sorry everyone - postage is going to be delayed this week while we focus on getting ready for the onset of cyclone Albert and preparing for potentially severe flooding in our area.

You may have noticed we've been a bit quiet lately... we've been busy packing up and moving! Never fear, we haven't gone far, but far enough for it to be a lot of work 🤪

We needed to run stock levels down a bit to help make the move a little less burdensome, but we're in the process of unpacking and setting things up again, and stock will be back on track soon.

We have a couple of exciting things to share with you about our new location and new local pickup arrangements - stay tuned for an announcement soon! 🙌🐴
