This tiny little Italian Greyhound came in for his vaccination and was quite possibly the cutest little patient we’ve had in our hands! 🥹

Frankie was so teeny, he practically fit in the palm of our hands. 🥰

Safe to say, we were all a little bit obsessed! 💚

Bird flu is making headlines, so Better Homes & Gardens asked Greencross Vets what it means for our pets.

Greencross Vets veterinarian Dr Nina shares practical advice to help pet parents understand the risks and take simple precautions.

“Bird flu can infect all mammals, so dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets can all be infected.”

From avoiding contact with sick or dead wildlife to keeping cats indoors and dogs on a leash around wildlife, a few simple steps can help reduce exposure.

🖤 A majestic visitor who never should have needed a trip to the vet.

This beautiful black swan was found with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth - a painful and completely preventable injury caused by discarded fishing gear.

Removing the hook required a general anaesthetic, along with pain relief to keep this feathered patient comfortable while we treated them. 🦢

A reminder to all anglers: please take your fishing line, hooks and tackle home with you or use a designated disposal bin. The Victorian Fisheries Authority advises that old fishing line should be placed in bins, or if there are no bins available, taken home, cut up and disposed of in general waste. Their Seal the Loop program also provides dedicated bins for unwanted fishing line, hooks, netting and rope. (VFA)

Discarded fishing gear can cause entanglement, injury and even death to wildlife. A few extra seconds to dispose of your gear properly can make a huge difference. 💔

🐾✨ Stella’s surgery success! ✨🐾

Sweet 11-year-old Stella recently underwent an emergency cystotomy with us to remove bladder stones. 🩺💗

After her procedure and a little time to recover, Stella is now doing amazingly well so far and almost back to being her happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so pleased to see this beautiful girl feeling comfortable and healthy again. 💕

We hope that everyone is keeping safe in these scary weather conditions and power outages. Unfortunately our clinic is currently without power and we don't yet know how long this could last for.

We are still open but running on limited resources and may need to refer you to other clinics. Our phones are not working right now but we are trying to rectify this. We will keep you all updated as soon as we hear anything and we appreciate your understanding.

Thank you for the amazing contributions you have made to the Mudgeeraba Clinic over your time working here. The team will miss you both so much. We can't be sad though, as we are so delighted to see you both grow and move on to greater opportunities in management and clinic direction at the Oxenford branch. You will make a wonderful team and they are lucky to have you!

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Please be advised that we are seeing an alarming amount of tick paralysis cases in the clinic. Pets have had to receive lifesaving treatment and spend days recovering in hospital due to overdue or absent preventatives.

Prevention is cure in this instance, so we urge all of our clients on the Gold Coast to check their preventatives and confirm that they are both up to date, and suitable for paralysis tick prevention.

It has been a chaotic year for all of us and time has been flying by. We understand that is easy to overlook or skip a prevention due date. If you are unsure, please call the clinic for clarification on what is needed and how frequently.
