Felinee Cattery Felinee is a modern and exclusive cattery, with an emphasis on personal care and attention Modern and exclusive with an emphasis on personal care and attention.

Our philosophy is that your cat will leave us in as good a condition or better than when it arrived. Owned and managed by Angela and Tony Knox animal lovers, and long term Gold Coast residents who live on the premises. The care of your cat is of the utmost important to us so our guest house has been built with that in mind. They will be warm in winter and cool in summer. Our aim is to provide a happy, caring environment that will give you peace of mind, knowing that your beloved cat is happy and contented in their home away from home. Guest suites have an individual outdoor area overlooking natural bush scenery. For inclement days they can sit and watch as we go about the daily chores within the guest house or join us whilst we watch a bit of TV or listen to the radio, your feline friends will feel so at home that they will want to come back!!!! Web cam suites are available on a request basis and will incur an extra daily fee. Short or long term, age no barrier. We are only a small feline guest house, therefore we ensure that all of our guests receive maximum care. No dogs allowed!!!

Booking an older cat in for a stay? A few things make it smoother. 🐾 Tell us about their appetite, any medication and when they have it, how easily they get around, and their favourite little routines. The more we know, the more we can tailor — and because we're vet-owned, we'll notice if something looks off and know what to do about it.

Plenty of guests arrive unsure, and that's completely fine. 🐾 We don't push affection or expect a cat to perform — we let them take it at their own pace, and let the attention come when they're ready. Watching a guest go from unsure to seeking out a cuddle is one of the best parts of this job. Being vet-owned, we also know the difference between shy and unwell, which is worth a lot.

Before any guest arrives, their suite gets a full clean and a fresh set-up. 🐾 It's not glamorous, but it's the bit we'd never skip — every cat should walk into a space that's ready for them, not one that still smells of the last holiday-maker.

“This is who lives beyond the fence. 🦘

One of the neighbours, dropping in on the slope for a look at what we’re up to. It’s the part of the place that photographs badly and matters a lot — real bush, gum trees, birds, and a queue of wildlife that treats the property as its own.

It’s also why we ask that guests arrive up to date on tick prevention. Bushland means wildlife, and wildlife means ticks.

“The bit guests never see: a suite being put back together. ✨

Between one cat checking out and the next checking in, the whole room is stripped, scrubbed, dried and set up again — bed, bowls, tray, toys, the lot. This is sped up. It takes considerably longer when you’re the one doing it.

Jacinta’s least glamorous hour, and probably the one that matters most.

Weekend cat fact 🐾 Yesterday was Global Cat Day, so here's one for the cats. That rhythmic pressing with their paws on a blanket (or you)? Kittens do it against their mum to get the milk flowing, and plenty of cats carry the habit into adulthood as a pure comfort signal — it usually means they're feeling safe and content.

“There’s no telly in the suites. Nobody has complained. 🌿

There is, instead, an entire hinterland going past the mesh all day: gum trees, birds, wind, and whatever the wallabies are up to. A cat will watch it for an hour, have a nap about it, then get back to watching.

This one has the best seat on the balcony and is fully aware of it.

A guest on regular medication doesn't have to mean a stressful stay. 🐾 Zorro takes his twice a day, and the trick is simple: a gentle hold, a calm, unhurried approach, and no chasing him down when it's time. Cats read tension fast — so the calmer we are about it, the calmer they are too, and it's over in seconds either way.

Does your cat take medication at home, and have you found a trick that works?
