To our valued clients,
We would like to take this opportunity to touch base and clear any potential confusion regarding accounts at Compass Veterinary Livestock Services.
Recently, our prior business partner Willunga and Aldinga Veterinary Services advised clients that accounts are no longer available and payment for services is required on day.
As many of you would likely still use their services for domestic animals, this is a point for potential confusion, and we would like to clarify that accounts are STILL available at Compass Veterinary Livestock Services and there has been no change to prior arrangements.
We look forward to seeing you on farm throughout 2026 and if any further clarification is required regarding this topic, please don’t hesitate to give us a call on 8556 2496.

A little introduction – and a new role for me at Compass Vets

Hi, I’m Sarah – one of the owners and directors of Compass Veterinary Livestock Services.

I’ve been part of Compass Vets for many years, mostly working in the background on the business, people and systems that support our clinical team and our clients.

Following Kerri’s departure, I’ve now stepped into the role of Finance Coordinator, alongside my ongoing director and leadership responsibilities and supporting the mental health ad well being for our team.

Many of you will already know my husband, Simon, our senior vet here at Compass Vets – and I’m also very proudly mum to Holly, who is part of our Compass Vets team too.

With a back ground in women's health and mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and community, my focus has always been on people – our farmers, our community and our team – and on making sure Compass Vets continues to be a trusted, values-driven and supportive practice for everyone we work with.

I’m looking forward to being a little more visible, getting to know more of you directly, and continuing to support healthy livestock, strong farms and our wonderful local community.

In my spare time i enjoy bush walking and trail running, time with our five grandkids and our four wonderful kids

Simon and I are always proud of our kids 🙏 it goes without saying really.

We are super proud of our Holly as she is raising money for the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia to support kids in hospital.

We’d love it if you can show some support and make a donation to this wonderful cause 🙏

We are here to help with any animals impacted by the recent fires.

Please reach out to us if you have found wildlife and we can assist with first aid and get you in touch with a wildlife rescue team lsuch as Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd

If you have injured or sick livestock, our vets are available for assistance and assessment.

** FIRE UPDATE**
After the inferno of last week’s Tooperang fire, South Australia’s wildlife groups are ready to work together to search and care for fire affected wildlife as soon as it is safe to access the fireground.
SOWFI members are assisting where we can and remaining on standby, following established directives. Many animals will be suffering from burnt feet and smoke inhalation, and sadly, there are difficult times ahead. Our team will be rescuing, caring for and transporting injured wildlife to veterinarians.
With another heatwave forecast this weekend, we are expecting more than 100 calls a day. This places enormous pressure on wildlife, and on our volunteers. We urgently need support to help cover the cost of food, medicines, enclosures and transportation.
Please keep an eye out for wildlife that may be struggling. Provide shade and a shallow bowl of water, and continue to follow fire safe practices in country and hills areas.

Last week we said farewell to Kerri, who has been a valued part of the Compass Vets team.

Kerri has supported our clinic through a period of growth and change, and we are grateful for the time, care and effort she has contributed along the way.

We wish you all the very best for what comes next, Kerri - thank you and goodbye 💐💛

From All of us at Compass Vets, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Vinnie has had way too much of the Christmas Spirit, and needed a little lie down, much like me. I hope it's been a lovely day for one and all. All the best, Simon, Sarah and our amazing team. 🎅🎊🌲

If you have ever wanted to learn more about Faecal Egg Counts hop on over to our website and check out the article that Cerrie wrote.

It is important to gather this information BEFORE you drench your animals so that you know what you are treating and how effective it is for your flock/herd.

Faecal egg counts (FEC) or worm egg counts (WEC) are an easy, non-invasive and cheap way of determining the presence and severity of parasitic worm burdens.
