With H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) recently detected in Australia, we have been advised by the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) to implement and share these recommendations to help keep our hospital, team, patients, and community safe.

While the risk to the general public remains low, awareness and early action are important. As always, our priority is maintaining a safe environment for our patients, clients, and staff while continuing to provide the highest standard of care.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the information and help us support the health and safety of our local animal community.

As the cooler weather sets in, many pets with arthritis and joint disease can experience increased stiffness, discomfort, and reduced mobility.

During our Joint Wellness Promotion throughout June and July, we're highlighting the range of options available to help keep your pet comfortable and active—including veterinary acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a gentle, drug-free therapy that can be used alongside traditional arthritis treatments to help:
✔️ Reduce pain and inflammation
✔️ Improve mobility and flexibility
✔️ Increase circulation to affected areas
✔️ Support overall wellbeing and quality of life
✔️ Complement existing medications and joint supplements

Many pets find acupuncture relaxing, and it can be particularly beneficial for senior pets or those living with chronic arthritis and joint conditions.

Our Joint Wellness Promotion is designed to help identify and manage joint disease early, allowing us to create a tailored treatment plan that may include weight management, nutrition, supplements, medications, rehabilitation therapies, and acupuncture.

If you've noticed your pet slowing down, hesitating to jump, struggling with stairs, or becoming stiff after rest, these may be signs to book for a check up.

Contact our team on 9960 2856 or visit mosmanvet.com.au to learn more about our Joint Wellness Promotion and whether acupuncture could be a suitable option for your pet.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible pet mums out there 💐🐾

Thank you for the early morning walks, the endless cuddles, the special treats, the vet visits, the clean-up jobs, and the unconditional love you give every single day. Being a pet parent means being a comforter, protector, nurse, best friend, and family — all wrapped into one.

Your pets may not be able to say “thank you” in words, but they show it in every wagging tail, gentle purr, happy zoomie, and loving gaze ❤️

Wishing all our wonderful pet mums a very happy Mother’s Day! 🌸🐶🐱

Early Detection Matters 🐾

We’re excited to offer a new blood screening test for early detection of lymphoma in dogs—now available as part of our Senior Health Promotion.
Lymphoma is one of the most common cancers in dogs, and early diagnosis can make a significant difference in treatment options and quality of life. This simple blood test helps identify potential concerns sooner, even before obvious symptoms appear.

Why consider screening?
• Dogs over 7 years are at higher risk
• Early detection = better health and recovery outcomes
• Non-invasive and easy to perform alongside routine bloodwork

Did you know?
• The average age of diagnosis is around 8.8 years
• Approximately 1 in 4 dogs will be affected by cancer in their lifetime
• Certain breeds may be at increased risk, including Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Beagles, French Bulldogs, and more

This test is ongoing and can be added to your pet’s routine care, and for a limited time, can also be added to our Senior Pet Health Promotion—making it a great opportunity to stay proactive about your dog’s wellbeing.

If your dog is entering their senior years, speak with our team about whether this screening is right for them 🐶
