🌟 Meet Ruby! 💎

Ruby recently came in for a dental scale and polish as well as full-mouth dental X-rays. Unfortunately, one of her molars was affected by a tooth root abscess. Ouch!

🦷 A tooth root abscess is a painful infection around the root of a tooth, often caused by injury or advanced periodontal disease.

The dental X-rays allowed us to assess the tooth root and surrounding bone. In Ruby's X-ray, the dark area surrounding the molar root shows changes associated with the abscess.

The affected tooth was was extracted to remove the source of infection and help relieve her pain. 💜

🌸 Spring is here, which means baby birds are out & about! 🐣

Most of the time, a baby bird being alone doesn’t mean it’s abandoned! Many young birds leave the nest before they can fully fly, while their parents stay nearby and continue caring for them. 💞

🚨What should you do?

• 🪶Fully feathered, bright and alert? Keep your distance and watch for the parents.
• In danger? Carefully move it to a nearby sheltered bush or shrub. 🌳
• Keep cats and dogs away. 🐱🐶
• Never give food or water.
• Injured, weak, cold or caught by a cat/dog? Contact a wildlife rescue organisation for advice. 🏥

Don’t kidnap a healthy baby bird! Its best chance is usually with it's parents in it's natural environment. 🐥🌷
