Let’s talk about those eyes 💙🧬
One of the first things people notice about Willow is that beautiful splash of blue in one of her eyes. But what actually causes it?
Willow carries two fascinating colour traits: Isabella and Dapple, and they influence pigmentation in very different ways.
🤎 Isabella comes from the dilute gene, giving her that beautiful soft colouring and lighter amber/hazel eyes.
💙 Dapple is responsible for the merle pattern, which can also reduce pigmentation in the iris, creating blue or partially blue eyes.
In Willow’s case, that’s given her one of the most distinctive features we adore: a little sparkle of blue in one eye. 💙
Two different genetic traits. One very unique little girl. 🧬🐾
Blue-eyed dreams really do come true. 🤍
