🕷️ TICK SEASON — IS YOUR WHOLE CREW COVERED?

Ticks aren’t just a concern for our dogs. When you’ve got a property full of animals, parasite management can look very different depending on the species — and the product that’s right for one animal may be completely unsuitable for another.
At Mandalong Stockfeeds, we stock a range of parasite-control options to help protect animals around the home and property.

🐶 DOGS — We have a great range of tick and parasite prevention, including Bravecto chews and spot-ons in multiple weight ranges, as well as NexGard Spectra options for dogs from 2 kg right through to 60 kg.

🐱 CATS — Cats need their own species-specific parasite products. Our range includes Bravecto Plus, Seresto collars and NexGard Spectra for cats, with options available for different weights.

🐄🐐🐖 LIVESTOCK & PROPERTY — We also carry Nucidol 200 EC for control of various external parasites in livestock and animal housing. Its labelled uses include cattle, pigs and goats, with specific directions depending on the animal and parasite being treated.

The big thing to remember is that parasite products are not interchangeable between species. Always choose a product specifically labelled for the animal you’re treating and follow the directions carefully.

Not sure what you need? Come in and have a chat with us. Tell us who you’re trying to protect and we can help you find an appropriate option from our range.

🌱🐴 5 THINGS HORSE OWNERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SPRING GRASS

Spring grass is lush, green and tempting… but for some horses, it can come with a hidden risk. Here’s what you need to know:

1️⃣ Spring grass can be high in sugar
Fresh growth can contain significant amounts of sugar, particularly under certain weather and growing conditions.

2️⃣ Not all horses handle sugar the same way
Horses with insulin dysregulation, obesity or a history of laminitis may be more vulnerable to the effects of high-sugar pasture.

3️⃣ More grass = more sugar intake
It’s not just what’s in the grass — it’s also how much your horse eats. Managing grazing time and intake can be an important part of spring management.

4️⃣ Don’t guess when it comes to hay
If your horse is prone to laminitis or has metabolic concerns, testing your hay can help you understand what you’re actually feeding.

5️⃣ Your horse’s whole diet matters
Pasture, hay, hard feed, body condition and workload all need to be considered together.

💚 Need help reviewing your horse’s diet?
Our in-store nutritionist is available at Mandalong Stockfeeds for diet reviews and analysis, helping you make informed feeding choices for your horse.
