Warrior has found his forever home 🦄

Sometimes you meet that special brumby, the one with an old soul. This is a Snowy Brumby who people knew in the wild due to his large scar on his neck.
But today all credit is due to Kirralee Jones- Partnership Performance Horses for taming and training him perfectly for a domestic life ahead.
It's been incredible to see the brilliant results Kirralee has achieved with so many Brumbies and particularly the stallions....
Brumby Warrior will now be gelded and will join a SBH trained mob on private mountain land for further training, care and of course love. A very special and lucky fella.
And we couldn't be more excited to partner with Kirralee in assisting her to bring more through gelding and then back home to the Mountains.

🫧 Sage has found his forever home! 🥹🤍

Here he is having his first wash 🤩

Sage’s new owners have officially made him theirs, and he’ll be staying with us a little longer as we begin the next chapter of his journey -starting him under saddle.

Sage has come such a long way and is so trusting and gentle. We’re excited to help prepare him for life with his new family. 🤍🐴

Meet Billy, as he was known in the wild. 🤎

This video is from a few weeks ago, not long after Billy arrived, and shows some of the very first steps we work through once a Brumby begins learning to be handled on a halter.

One of our wonderful volunteers has been learning about gentling Brumbies, and Billy has been the first one she has worked through under our guidance and teaching. She has done such a lovely job with him so far, and when he is ready, Billy will be going home with her.🫶🏼

You’ll also see a few photos and videos throughout this video of Billy out in the wild. He is still a wild stallion, and this is all very new to him so we are definitely not looking for perfect groundwork. It’s about helping the horse understand the questions, encouraging them to have a go, and gradually building softness, confidence and understanding. There is always more to improve on, and the process will look a little different for every horse.

These simple foundations are incredibly important. Before we can expect much more from these horses, we need to make sure they can comfortably be caught, led, moved around, touched and handled safely, while still giving them the time and space to think, understand and build trust in the process.

Just some of Billy’s first steps into domestic life. 🤎
