What a season it has been! 💙🐴

We have officially reached our goal of 500 horses clipped—and we’re still going!

This milestone means so much to me. Behind every horse are long days, late nights, countless kilometres and an incredible amount of hard work—but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

To every client who has trusted me with their horses, recommended my business or supported JCW Equine Grooming along the way: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly couldn’t have reached this milestone without you. ✂️💙

Horses living with PPID—commonly known as Cushing’s disease—may grow a thick, long or curly coat that doesn’t shed normally. As winter ends and the weather begins to warm, carrying this extra coat can make them uncomfortable and cause excessive sweating.

A carefully chosen spring clip can help by:

✨ Removing the heavy winter coat and helping them stay cooler
✨ Allowing sweat to evaporate and the horse to dry more quickly
✨ Reducing the discomfort of remaining hot and damp beneath a thick coat
✨ Making grooming and coat maintenance easier
✨ Allowing the skin, body condition and any lumps, sores or infections to be monitored more closely
✨ Helping older PPID horses feel more comfortable throughout the warmer months

Clipping won’t treat PPID itself, but it can be an important part of keeping these horses comfortable. Their rugs should be adjusted to suit the amount of coat removed, and they must still have access to shade and fresh water.

If your horse is developing an unusually long or curly coat, struggling to shed, sweating excessively or showing other changes, speak with your veterinarian about PPID testing and management.

Sometimes clipping isn’t simply about appearance—it’s about improving the horse’s everyday comfort and wellbeing. 💙

One season winds down, and the next chapter of JCW begins. 💙✂️

I’m so grateful to everyone who trusts me with their horses. Every booking, recommendation and kind message helps me keep doing what I love.

For the forthcoming clipping season, my prices will increase slightly to support equipment, maintenance, preparation and the care each horse deserves. Every horse will always receive the patience and individual attention they need. 🐴

Behind the scenes, I’m continuing to share educational content and develop Equidelle, while building a business that supports my future with Charlotte.

Thank you for being part of JCW’s journey. There’s so much more to come. 💙

More than a season. Always evolving.
For the horses. Always.

🪮🐴 Your grooming kit could be sharing more than you think… 👀

Dirty brushes can carry bacteria, fungal material, parasites and skin debris from horse to horse. A little grooming-kit hygiene can go a long way. 🧼✨

Clean brushes. Clean equipment. Healthier grooming habits. 🤍

Yes, that’s the SAME horse! 🤩 Milo has swapped his winter woollies for a sleek new look, ready to take on the show horse ring at Interschool Nationals! 🏆✨

There was a showstopper hiding under all that fluff! 🐴😍

Think you’ve missed clipping season? It’s still not too late to clip! With the right timing and blade choice for your horse’s coat, a spring freshen-up could be just what they need.

🐴✂️ IS IT TOO LATE TO CLIP YOUR HORSE? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

As we move out of winter and into spring, horses naturally begin shedding their thick winter coats — and underneath, that fresh new-season coat is already developing. 🌱✨

A carefully selected late-season clip can help:

✂️ Remove dry, loose winter hair
✨ Reveal the healthier coat developing underneath
🧹 Make grooming and coat maintenance easier
🐴 Create a cleaner transition into spring
💙 Leave your horse looking and feeling fresher

But this is where blade choice really matters.

At this stage of the season, going too short can mean clipping into the new coat already coming through. That’s why I assess each horse individually — looking at how much winter coat remains, how heavily they’re shedding, their coat type and how developed the new coat is underneath.

Sometimes, a slightly longer blade is the better choice.

Spring clipping is about working WITH the coat, not against it. ✂️

So if your horse is fluffy, dull, patchy or dropping hair everywhere, don’t assume you’ve missed your chance!

🔥 WAIT FOR ALADDIN’S TRANSFORMATION… 👀✂️🐴

You’d never guess THIS coat was hiding underneath all that winter fluff. 😮‍💨✨

Aladdin went from winter woolly ➡️ sleek, fresh & SPRING READY and the difference is seriously satisfying. 😍

And here’s your reminder… IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO CLIP! 📣

Right now horses are starting to shift that heavy winter coat, and removing the old, dry hair can help their fresh spring/summer coat come through quicker and more evenly.

BUT… ✂️ blade choice is everything this time of year.
The goal is to remove the winter coat — not chop off the beautiful new summer coat already coming through underneath.

Aladdin understood the assignment. 🔥

The glow-up speaks for itself… WATCH UNTIL THE END! 👀

Who else finds a transformation like this ridiculously satisfying?! 😍👇
