What happened to Mr Barkley?
We get asked this on a regular basis.
Early 2024 our lease on Ocean st was coming to an end and we wanted to renovate and revamp however due to the building being approved for a massive re development/ demolished. we decided against putting money into the building, If we were uncertian on the development of the area and how long we had in that building.
So we decided to join our Ocean St and Stylish Canine Brisbane road salon as it was much bigger and brighter. We had previously had a couple of noise complaints at Brisbane road from neighbouring business that didn't like dogs. However the realestate approved us to expand knowing we would get alot busier combinding the two salon and the staff.
This salon was vibing and we loved this new space. However after 10months the realestate come to us and said they can no longer lease the empty space next door due to us being a dog salon. So we had the option to take over the entire building, pay xx to completley sound proof or we could exit the lease at no cost.
So with the difficult but also bitter sweet decision we made the move to our Original salon Canine Marcoola. Where we have been for the past 6 years and never has any issues.
And might I say it has been the best decision yet. We are LOVING being back to the beautiful quiet town of Seaside with our Regular clients.
We are a local family run business, thank you to those who have followed us and supported us over the last 6 years during all the moves, the highs and the lows.
Founding Owners Chris and Shayla are the main groomers again and we are keeping our team small our quality high and our comunity close.
Our books are almost full for 2026.
