Harper is a beautiful 7-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, and for large breeds like her, hydrotherapy is a great, gentle exercise. It supports joint health, eases pain, and keeps big pups moving comfortably without putting a heavy impact on their aging joints.

About a year ago, we saw a sweet patient who was hiding a surprisingly painful secret behind her adorable smile! 🐶

Meet tiny Miss Sophie, who was only 12 weeks old at the time. Every time this brave little pup closed her mouth, an abnormal lower baby fang was digging right into her hard palate, creating a painful hole.
To get her smiling comfortably again, Dr. Vicky took X-rays to ensure the adult tooth underneath was safe before carefully extracting the pesky baby tooth.

Sophie was an absolute superstar during her procedure and finally got to go home completely pain-free. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our patients back to their playful selves! 💙🐾

Notice a double row of teeth in your puppy’s mouth? 🦈 🐶

This is a common condition called retained deciduous teeth (often nicknamed "shark teeth"). It happens when a puppy's baby tooth stubbornly stays in place while the adult tooth erupts right next to it.

Why does it matter?
🦷 Causes crowding and misaligned adult bites
🦷 Traps food and plaque, leading to early periodontal disease
🦷 Can cause pain or damage to the soft tissues of the mouth

Make sure to check your growing puppy's mouth regularly! Routine dental checks help catch this early, so if those baby teeth aren't falling out on their own, it might be time for a vet visit!

🚨 Parasite Protection: Heading down the coast? Double-check that your paralysis tick and flea coverage is completely up to date!

🐝 Bee & Wasp Stings: Dogs love chasing buzzing bugs. Keep an eye out for sudden facial swelling or limping if they step on or snap at one.

🌾 Grass Seeds & Allergies: Long grass means seeds can burrow into skin or end up in noses. Give long-haired pups a good brush after outdoor play, and watch for sudden sneezing or skin flare-ups!
