Don't let worms wear your pet as a costume this Halloween. Take your pet off the menu and protect them at Petbarn.

In 2004, an 18-year-old Jamie Sparrow joined Petbarn’s Campbelltown store to help cover eight weeks. More than 20 years later, he’s still here. 💛

Back then, Petbarn had seven stores, cash drawers, paper stocktakes and weekend car-park events featuring visits from Dr Harry. Jamie served customers, packed shelves and drove forklifts before moving into the support office, service desk and IT leadership.

Today, he’s General Manager – Retail & Corporate IT Solutions, helping support more than 250 stores. Having experienced life on the shop floor, Jamie still approaches technology with frontline teams and the customer experience firmly in mind.

His mum Shirley’s story also began temporarily before moving into a full-time role and becoming a store manager. Together with Jamie’s wife Kate, three Sparrows have built careers at Petbarn, which means family dinners are rarely free from shop talk.

Petbarn team members, past and present: where did your journey begin? And customers, what Petbarn memory has stayed with you? Share your story – or an old photo – in the comments.

Since you’re going to do it anyway, follow the clues and comment which Victorian suburb we’re opening in next by 10pm for your chance to win a $100 Petbarn voucher. I can’t believe I’m rewarding this behaviour.

I heard we’re helping pets this Christmas, so I put my antlers on. I’m not sure how they help, but I’m ready.

Any guesses what’s coming? Tell me below. 💛

George planted his paws outside Petbarn South Yarra and insisted on going in. Now he’s reporting for duty. 🐾

Come along for George’s first day as our Chief Shopping Officer, where toy inspections require his full attention and a nap counts as considering his findings.
We think he’s found his calling. What special skill would go at the top of your pet’s CV?

Barnadette’s secret headquarters is behind the curtain. I can see her tail, but I’m pretending I can’t because that’s what friends do. Where does your pet hide? Comment or share photos below.
