VBTR is a non-profit, volunteer run organisation in, but not exclusive to, Victoria Australia. We are dedicated to rescuing bull terriers left homeless for whatever reason. We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organisations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless bully’s. We place dogs in loving, responsible, comm

itted permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption/fostering process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a bull terrier into their homes and lives. VBTR will continue to hold their famous Bully day outs and fundraising activities which includes auctions, raffles, functions. We welcome you to join us in helping to provide a better life for the Bully's in need. VBTR are always looking for help in fostering, transporting, house checks, donations and most importantly by spreading the word.

💔 It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts, that we share with you that our sweet forever foster (and Grey Muzzler) Floki has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈🪽

3 short years ago, cheeky boy Floki found his way into VBTR's care and into the loving arms of his wonderful forever foster parents Rob & Jess.
This is where Floki would live the bully dream as the centre of Rob & Jess’s world 🙌🏻

🌊☀️ A local beach dude, Floki loved his sandy beach walks and watching sunsets over the water.
He loved riding in the car, living a life of fun and adventure including many bush walks. Floki was always included in Rob & Jess’s active lifestyle 🚗🌳

Floki was known for his ‘witching hour’ where he would go crazy before or after dinner. He loved his food and would get very vocal if it was late 🤭

♥️ Darling Floki stole many hearts within our VBTR family, enjoying regular catch ups with his favourite people and bully gang of Missy, Sasha, Bruce and Daisy 🐾

We recently received the devastating news that our sweet Floki was diagnosed with Lymphoma in its latest stages 💔
Not knowing how long they had with their precious boy, Rob & Jess made sure he was extra spoiled and that he only knew love until the very end.

Last week, and just shy of his 11th birthday, Floki was given his wings 🪽🌈

Floki will be terribly missed by so many but most of all his doting family; Rob & Jess.
Through our tears and heartbreak, we at VBTR will be forever grateful that he was lucky to live 3 of the most amazing years being loved by them ♥️🐾

💬💬 LET’S TALK ABOU LENNY

VBTR is blessed to have wonderful supporters, who facilitate meeting the needs - large and small - of all our dogs in care 💕 Recently, this has included the ability to send some on dedicated board and train programs. This has helped us to find wonderful forever homes for both Angus and Ginny, and now it’s LENNY’S turn.

LENNY, came to us with no history from a rural interstate pound. He has now been in care for 6 months and with the wonderful help of his foster carer, bully buddy and some expert advice, we’ve been able to learn a lot about him. LENNY is a sweet and cuddly boy who loves a walk and a warm bath 🛁 but he can be insecure and he has developed some negative behaviours that he uses to control situations that make him feel uncomfortable. Based on this, the team decided a board and train program would be the best option to set LENNY up for future success 💪

Fast forward 10 days into his training program and LENNY is getting glowing reviews. Known as the resident “sweetheart”, he is learning what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour, is responding to commands when being asked, is building confidence and LOVES being told when he is a good boy 🙌 LENNY is doing the work and readying himself to be a wonderful companion for the right person.

👉 SO here is where YOU come in. We have another amazing opportunity for someone to keep helping LENNY on his journey. We would dearly love for LENNY to go from board and train straight into his foster to forever home. Stability, consistency and continuity are really important for LENNY’s continued development, so his foster carer will continue to have VBTR’s support in training.

We are looking for a very special person:

✅ Must have a PET FREE home (no exceptions)

✅ Must be available for a 3hr handover to learn the “training language”. This is essential for LENNY’s further development.

✅ Someone committed to following through with ongoing training (full support of rescue whilst in foster care)

✅ Not a home where he will spend a lot of time alone.

✅ a single or adult only home in a quiet environment (no children)

✅ Committed to working with us to ensure LENNY continues to succeed

✅ VIC placement only.

🌟APRIL 2026🌟 update for our wonderful ♻️recycling Kings and Queens!

📣 What an incredible effort for just one month of recycling; you managed to raise a total of $416.50 😲 for Victorian Bull Terrier Rescue Inc. via Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme 👏🏼

This was done simply by exchanging eligible drink containers for 10 cents at refund points across the state!

Here is the breakdown:

🚨 URGENT 🚨 foster carers needed!

We currently have multiple dogs, looking for emergency care in experienced homes where they can decompress and receive veterinary care.

Without these foster carers we simply cannot take on any more dogs 🥺

🥺🙏🏼 We are desperate right now!

Our tiny team is exhausted, and we need safe, PET FREE homes to place these dogs, with confident and experienced handlers. (Please do not be offended if you are rejected because you have a lovely dog or cat already, there are many reasons for our ‘pet free’ requests)

☑️ We do have a very thorough application process to ensure that our dogs are placed in the best homes, to set them and their carers up for success.
After all; dogs often come into rescue because somewhere along the line they have been failed by humans, and it’s imperative that we don’t allow that to happen again 🥺

💗 We supply everything you will need; food, bedding, toys and so much more ~ we just need you to supply the love and keep them safe 🙏🏼❤️🐾

COULD YOU BE THE HERO WE NEED? 💪💪

Darling boy Lenny has been in emergency care for 6 months now. His much loved and dedicated foster carer has taken wonderful care of him, but he needs to move to a long term foster carer or ideally, to his foster to forever home 🏡 .

Lenny may not have a classic Bull Terrier appearance, but this boy is larger than life - the quintessential Bull Terrier clown - a cheeky, playful, cuddly shadow. He loves his walks and adores his human 🥰

What Lenny needs right now is a quiet home with a dedicated and experienced carer who is home more often than not. Lenny can be suspicious of strangers and other dogs and he will need time and patience to settle into a new environment. VBTR will support Lenny's carers with training and veterinary treatment while in care, to help him overcome his mistrust.

💖🤩 THANKFUL THURSDAY 🤩💖

As a rescue group, we are lucky enough to be in the company of some pretty wonderful people 🙏🏼

💖 Today we want to give a massive shout out to our friends at PetRescue , who have a fabulous program set up to donate essential goods to organisations such as ours!

We were recently lucky enough to receive a HUGE donation of goodies; toys, leads, collars, etc for our dogs coming into care 🥹
Our very own Forever Foster (and super model Sasha), along with VBTR adopted boy Bruce were on hand to inspect the goods! 🐾

❣️EDIT/UPDATE: We have FABULOUS news for darling Lottie; the results for the 2 lumps that were removed are all good 🙌🏻
They were both benign and completely excised. The pathologist expects them to be curative and the lesions will not recur 🙏🏼

Lottie's recovering well and her wounds are healing nicely.

Thanks so much to everyone who donated; we almost entirely covered her latest vet bill 🙏🏼💖🐾

A little update on our darling 💖LOTTIE💖

This sweetheart came into rescue in January 2025!
She arrived with a multitude of serious health issues requiring urgent veterinary attention;
👉🏼 Chronic skin infections (she had countless open wounds on her legs, face, and body). Her skin was so itchy that she would bite and scratch herself constantly 🥺
👉🏼 Severe ear infections in both ears (so inflamed that the vet could not see her ears drums)
👉🏼 Severe dry eyes requiring medicated drops
👉🏼 Likely degenerative joint disease and arthritis in her back legs.

Over the past 15 months, Lottie has visited the skin specialist so many times and her amazing foster family have worked hard to transform this beautiful girl and get on top of many of her ongoing health concerns 🙏🏼
She is on daily medication to help with her skin and joints.
💖 We are so blessed that Lottie landed in the home with Scott and Sarah’s beautiful family, who have done so much to help transform this little love bug!

🥺 Last Friday she had to have 2 nasty looking lumps removed and we are currently awaiting the results on exactly what those lumps were 🙏🏼
She is now recovering nicely at home, and lapping up all the extra attention 🥰

🧾 The vet bills for Lottie have amounted exponentially as you can imagine with so many specialist visits, and with another $1600 last week; we would LOVE if you have a spare dollar or two that you might be able to contribute to her ongoing care 🙏🏼
