About Today. . . . One of the best things about how I spend my time with your Woof, is the partnership we create, because to groom your Woof and help them feel comfortable we need to be working together. When your Woof feels anxious, it’s my job to respond and make their space feel safe.
Malibu’s hooman reached out over a year ago; they needed to find him a new groomer. I was grateful they were open about his previous experiences and his behaviour. It didn’t sound like he was aggressive, the story sounded like a misunderstood, anxious Woof who was acting out because he was fearful.
Not long after his first few grooms, Malibu jumps into the Woof Wagon when asked. He has never bitten me, nor have I ever felt he would. His body might not feel floppy and completely at ease but he certainly trusts the process and Malibu grooming days are Lemon Squeezy!
Today while tidying up his face, nose to nose, I whispered to Malibu, “I think you’re magical Malibu, thank you for trusting me,” and with that, we finished up our time together and, I can’t wait till next time!

The difference a groom makes ✨

Meet Miss Pip; she started her day with friends, fresh air, and plenty of adventure time… and by the looks of her coat, she’s been busy (and it was only 11am)!

After her warm double wash, deep clean, a purple shampoo refresh to bring those whites back to bright, and silky conditioner, she finished with a smooth, super-soft coat that feels as good as it looks.

Also, a quick face tidy so her gentle eyes really pop and she can clearly see where she’s heading next! 😄🐾

What’s your thing? Archie’s thing is he doesn’t want to be handled by me when I arrive but once he’s brought to the Woof Wagon by his Hooman, he’s ok for me to touch him and groom him as normal. I feel his body relax and it’s like there was never an issue to begin with. We think we know the why and that’s ok, we just work around it as best we can!

It’s been an exciting week and a bit. We are onto week 2 of welcoming Kaz to the Woof Wagon team and we have packed in a bunch of stuff. We haven’t just groomed your wonderful Woofs, we have laughed, we have done lots of learning about ourselves, eachother and your Woofs, completely overloaded our brains but it’s been a hoot and I’m pretty sure we’d both do it all over again. Here’s to the end of week 2. Big Thanks goes out to all you most glorious Hoomans who have welcomed Kaz as warmly as your Woofs have. Thank You! Thank You! 🙏🏽🥰🫶🏽

This guy. Buddy. He is the best little man with a beautiful coat. From a groomer’s perspective, Buddy has the best coat to work with; the end result always looks…*Chefs Kiss* 💋
It’s coats like Buddy’s that the best teddy bear face can be attained, his fur sits perfectly, it is easy to shape and if washed well, dries relatively quick. But!…..Buddy struggles with the dryer. He hates it in his face, actually, to be completely fair, Buddy hates anywhere on his head being touched. So while it pains me as a groomer having all these fantastic elements to create the perfect teddy bear look, Buddy’s wellbeing trumps all of that and that’s where having tricky conversations come in. Being upfront with Buddy’s owner, letting them know how Buddy feels; helping them understand to achieve that cute teddy bear look means placing Buddy under stress (that I as a groomer will not do & I find completely unnecessary). Thankfully, Buddy has wonderful owners, so, this is Buddy’s finished look…a sort of Teddy Bear face, which isn’t completely dry but it works. It’s a win-win; Buddy’s owners get the look they like & Buddy’s stress levels are kept to a minimum.

We are so very excited to introduce to you…Kaz, the newest member to our Woof Wagon Team! We knew it couldn’t be just anyone. There was only one way…we knew we were looking for a Unicorn. FOUND ONE! 🦄 🥳 👏🏽

It’s not the tightest of spots and we’re not saying we enjoy it…but we do get a little flutter under our wings, ok, ok, yes that’s our ego jumping around- you got us…but it is rather satisfying when you can back up like a badass 😜 and may we add, this is by no means a request for a reversing challenge; just celebrate with us ok? ….(and stroke our ego a little) 🤣
