Did you know that cauliflower comes in purple? 🟣

Aside from being striking in colour, purple cauliflower is considered more nutritious than its white counterpart. Anthocyanins cause the purple hue and are also a potent antioxidant offering many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and cardiovascular protection.

The ingredients in our Seasonal Vegetable Chop vary between batches to ensure your bird eats a diverse range of nutrients and never get bored of their vegetables. Our latest batch includes purple cauliflower!

This is George (). George is a sulphur-crested cockatoo who was fed only sunflower seeds for nearly 40 years. Sadly, due to his owner becoming unwell, George spent the last few years in a very small cage with little enrichment or exercise.
This poor diet and lack of movement caused him to become obese, and he weighed 2 kg when he was surrendered.

With time, patience, and lots of care, George is now eating pellets, a lower-fat seed mix, and vegetables. After just two months in care, he now weighs 1.5 kg.
Amazing work by . This is a great reminder that all birds can learn to eat healthier foods, no matter how long they’ve been on a seed diet—it just takes persistence and patience. šŸ¦œšŸ’š

A common reason why avian vets will see a bird for the first time is the owner has noticed a lack of feathers on their bird’s body.

Feather loss can be mild or more noticeable and range from causes such as normal moulting to more serious reasons such as viral infections, skin pathology and plucking.

We encourage fear-free handling whereever possible. Laura one of our customers gives our Carrot Cake bird bread as a treat after giving her conure his daily medication. Medicating a bird for an ongoing medical condition can be stressful for both the owner and the bird. By rewarding your bird after it takes its medication, it can encourage voluntary intake and even make birds look forward to taking their medication. The goal is to find a treat that is high demand!

Laura writes ā€œEver since my conure had the Carrot Cake from a trial sample it has become his demanded late afternoon snack.ā€

How beautiful are these yellow capsicums!

We source all our vegetables from local markets direct from farmers to ensure maximum nutritional value for your bird. Many store-bought vegetables lose significant nutrients—sometimes up to 50%, due to time in transit and storage. By working directly with nearby growers, we’re able to select produce at peak freshness and prepare it quickly, locking in essential vitamins and minerals. This farm-to-bowl approach not only supports local farmers but also delivers cleaner, more vibrant ingredients your bird can taste—and benefit from—every day.
