If I could do it all again?



I need to send out my gratitude for all the people who have and continue to donate to this little special needs rescue.

I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the support.

Over the years as I have gotten busy, had less time to create content, our follower count across all socials has dropped over 100,000. Our engagement is so low these days that I often think, is it worth posting anymore? But for the small handful of faithful LoPers, I guess I do this for you.

We will have lots of changes over the next 6 months, our financial situation will improve once we hold Charity status + DGR.

Right now, it’s the people who continue to donate, not just when I do an urgent plea call out, but there are some very kind and generous people who will donate sporadically throughout the weeks. Those donations are keeping me and the rescue going. They help pay for our large fortnightly food bill, they pay for essentials like cleaning supplies, petrol to and from the vet, vet trips and all the bits that many wouldn’t even think of.

We still have our last big GO FUND ME, it’s at 8% funded and I kept the goal amount $20k lower than what we actually need.

Our food supplier is undertaking renos in the coming weeks, it means we need to stock up now, but we also have to pay up now too. That’ll be around $3000 but it’ll see us through for at least 3 weeks.

I don’t expect to have a flood of donations today, but I’d be grateful for any donations that are gifted our way. ❤️

I’m not gonna lie, I actually gifted this baby the name PRALINE just so I could do a video with this song (and another).

Ever since this tubby little micro bully girl arrived into care last week, I have been perpetually squealing at her every move out of sheer delight at how adoraBULL she is.

Praline is 7 weeks and 2 days old, her breeder stayed in close contact with me, doing all the hard work of round the clock tube feeding to raise this sweet baby girl.

One vet thinks she may have a very short soft palate, while I suspect her soft palate is in the shape of what’s known as a “swallow tail shaped soft palate cleft”, it sort of looks like a big “W”.

Anytime Praline guzzled milk from her mama or later, drank water from a bowl or had some runny yoghurt, the liquids would come back up her nose much like a puppy with a soft palate cleft.

Weirdly enough, I’ve heard of many GP vets tell breeders that a soft palate cleft is *mild* and encouraged them to put pup on mum to drink.

In my years of experience as a specialist neonate rescuer, soft palate clefts alone are often the most dangerous & almost always need a cleft repair surgery.

Dr Arthur House (our go-to surgical specialist) is already aware of Praline and will see her when she is around 12 weeks old.

For now, this beautiful little landshark will be terrorizing all at LoP HQ.

Oh and since these “pocket bullies” aka “micro bullies” aka “mini pitties” are always SO popular to adopt, anyone wishing to throw their hat in the ring for this baby girl had better be one of the very few who watched her announcement video earlier today.

With our video earlier today, we’ve had a total of ZERO dollars donated and super low engagement across all socials.

Our food bill is expected to be around $1600 this week (we now have to pay as we go).
Our sanctuary deer & miniature ponies have a food bill of $600 this week.
Our vet visit tomorrow for 3 x dogs (including Praline) is expected to be close to $1k

And of course I had to hire emergency services this morning as damage done by some of the foster pups resulted in a catastrophic issue for the running of the rescue.

Things are feeling pretty hopeless 💔

Have you ever fostered a puppy or a dog and they’ve done some damage, be it that they’ve eaten your fave shoes or perhaps your fave sofa?

How about all the electrics to your septic tank pump so the whole house can no longer have running water, use the bathroom, do loads of washing or wash up in the kitchen sink?

This is a $2000+ expense I have to somehow pay in just 30minutes once the new pump is installed and the electrics reconfigured 😭

Technically this should be a rescue expense as the damage caused was by multiple foster puppies (back during their destructive phase, you’re welcome to whoever adopts these two because I got them during their naughty puppy period so you don’t have to worry). I’m looking at you Pampoenkoekies and Partridge Pie 👀

So, I know it’s a long shot but if anyone wanted to casually donate towards this hefty bill, please feel free to do so (I would love you forever and ever).

2) Our rescue has a very expensive week this week.
- three pups are headed into the vet on Tuesday (tomorrow)

And that’s just the main stuff! It all amasses to around $4000 and since I took a week off from socials last week, I’m kinda panicked about how or if we can raise these urgent funds…
