Let’s train! I CAN HELP! Yes- even your dog!

Do you wish your dog would listen to you the first time, every time, even under REALLY high distraction? Is your dogs behaviour becoming increasingly difficult to manage? Do you have a new puppy and want to ensure they grow into fantastic, easy to have around family members? Hi, I'm Heidi and I teach dog owners how to teach their dogs to be well behaved in every situation so they can truly have them as part of their lives and families.

Boundary setting is an extremely underrated skill in my opinion.

Yes, it’s a very practical skill. It makes having your dog inside more manageable. It keeps dirty feet off the carpet. It stops your dog wandering into areas of the house they don’t need access to.

Yes, it’s important for safety. So they learn not to race out the front door, rush through a gate or barge into areas without being invited.

But there’s another reason I teach boundaries that I think gets overlooked… it’s a really simple way of establishing leadership in your home.

Your dog gets to have fun, they get to relax, they get to enjoy being part of the family… But there are still behaviour expectations.

You set the boundaries.
You communicate the expectations.
You decide when they have access.

And that consistent communication subtly reinforces an important that ‘You live here, you’re part of the family, but ultimately I call the shots.’
That’s not about being harsh or mean.

It’s about preventing entitlement and teaching your dog that freedom comes with boundaries.

Dogmanship Training Academy member can learn exactly how to teach this in the phase 3 section 👍

If I want a dog who listens under distraction OUT of the house, I first need a dog who listens WITH distraction IN the house.

If she can’t hold a drop while my kids run around dropping food at home, she’s going to struggle to lay at my feet in a cafe.
You build the distraction up in layers. Eg, food, noise, movement…until it’s genuinely hard to think of a situation she won’t listen in.
You don’t start training for a scenario in the scenario… you prepare so the scenario becomes the logical next step.

I don’t want my dog to need food in order to listen to me.
Motivators like food are a fantastic tool but they shouldn’t become a crutch.

Introducing Achievement Badges! 🎉
I wanted to create a fun way to celebrate your training progress AND help keep you motivated to keep training, and I think these badges are the perfect way to do it!

Every member of the Dogmanship Training Academy will receive a bandana…
But you have to EARN the badges! 📈

As you progress through your training, you’ll be able to submit videos for assessment when you’re ready to work towards your next badge.
Every dog and every owner is eligible and capable of earning every badge. It’s not about having the ‘perfect’ dog or being a professional trainer. You just need to be willing to put in the work, learn together and celebrating the progress you make along the way.🤩

And I know that work isn’t always easy.
I’m a business owner, a dog trainer and a mum of 3 homeschooling kids… so I completely understand that life gets BUSY!
That’s why this program has been designed with busy families in mind.
You don’t need hours every day.
You just need to keep showing up, keep practising and keep progressing.
Because the badges aren’t just about motivating your dog…
They’re about motivating YOU too.

That little feeling of “YES! We did it!” can be exactly what you need to keep going when life gets hectic.

So… are you ready to collect them all?
