🐾💗 HAPPY VET NURSE DAY! 💗🐾

Today we celebrate our incredible team of Veterinary Nurses at MVP! 🩺🐶🐱

We are so lucky to have these beautiful women as the backbone of our clinic — the ones who somehow manage to be nurses, animal whisperers, cleaners, receptionists, therapists, professional animal wranglers… and survive on coffee! 😂☕

They do so much behind the scenes to keep our clinic running and our patients happy and healthy. ❤️

Thank you for everything you do — MVP wouldn’t be the same without you! 🐾🥰

🐍 SNAKE BITES IN PETS 🐍

Spring has arrived 🌸 and with the warmer weather, snakes are becoming more active — meaning an increased risk of snake bites for our pets.

🚨 A snake bite is a veterinary emergency. Dogs and cats can deteriorate rapidly, so if you suspect your pet has been bitten, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Seek veterinary treatment immediately.

If you find your pet with a snake, have them checked by a vet even if they seem completely normal. Signs can be delayed, particularly in cats.

❗️ Signs of a snake bite may include:
• Sudden collapse or weakness
• Vomiting or excessive drooling
• Tremors or shaking
• Purple or discoloured gums
• Loss of bladder or bowel control
• Paralysis
• Bleeding

🐍 Brown and Tiger snakes are common in our region. You do not need to identify the snake before seeking treatment — we have multi-species antivenom available.

📞 If possible, call us on your way so we can prepare for your arrival.

🐾 They may still look like babies, but kittens grow up fast!

Did you know female kittens can reach sexual maturity and become pregnant from around 4 months of age?

With kitten season just around the corner, now is the perfect time to talk to us about desexing your kitten. Desexing can help prevent unwanted litters and is an important part of responsible pet ownership.

Don’t wait until they’re grown — get ahead of kitten season and book their desexing today! 💕🐱
