Trust isn’t something you can force on a horse — it’s something you earn, one quiet moment at a time. ❤️

For a horse that has been let down by people, every gentle touch, every kind word, and every moment of patience matters. The day they choose to walk up to you, lower their head, and finally let their guard down is a feeling that’s hard to put into words. We are still waiting for that moment with Renegade, but it’s getting closer by the day.

Trust takes time, but it’s worth every second. 🐴✨

Dixie didn’t put a foot wrong today with her first time ever having a saddle on! Even managed to pick her front feet up & run the rasp over them 🎉

Still a long way to go, but even little steps forward are still steps forward!

Oh, and we forgot to mention last week we discovered another little calf! Bessie finally dropped her baby! First time she has had a heifer! 💓

Sometimes training doesn’t look like training. Sometimes it’s just being with the horse & letting them get used to you. Brushing, rubbing all over, picking up feet, relaxing etc - general things that people take for granted. Every time you handle or ride a horse, you are teaching a lesson - it’s up to you whether it’s a good lesson or a bad lesson.

This afternoon Dixie finally let us pick up her front feet long enough to get abit of a look at them. Lots of work there once she is trained enough for our amazing farrier team, Wide Bay Farrier Services.
