๐งฉ Rider With Disability (RWD) Competitors: Competition Phase Preferences - please contact Janeen at [email protected] ๐งฉ
At the QLD Youth Aldridge Equestrian Challenge, we are committed to doing our best to create a positive, inclusive and supportive experience for every rider, horse and family.
During the competition phase of the event, classes operate in a similar format to a Gymkhana, with riders moving around the classes as a group and participating in the events they have entered or supporting others for the events they haven't entered.
For our Rider With Disability (RWD) competitors, we understand that every rider's needs and preferences are different. Riders may choose to:
๐ด Travel around the classes with their Year level age-group
๐ด Travel with a sibling and their sibling's Year level group
๐ด Travel around the classes independently (with support from their parent/carer)
๐ด Discuss alternative arrangements that will help them feel comfortable and successful throughout the event
Our goal is to ensure every participant has the opportunity to enjoy the event in a way that supports their wellbeing, confidence, learning and enjoyment while also considering the needs of their horse.
If you have entered as an RWD competitor & would like to discuss the best option for your child, please contact Janeen at [email protected] ASAP so we can work together to create a positive experience for everyone involved.
๐ Every rider deserves the opportunity to participate, belong and shine.๐ดโจ
