Today was our last day meeting for the year as the next 2 meetings will be evening meetings, which the dogs really enjoy running under lights.
Today was a really good day for lure coursing, not to hot so a slightly longer course could be used which the dogs liked as there was a lot of top runs.
I must mention the Beagle club who ran after us and had every Beagle that attended finish the course, from the beginners to the advance Beagles, all putting great runs around the course, a new record for the club, and the pack run at the end of the day was great to watch.
It was great to see a big entry of Whippets today, putting in a lot of spectacular runs around the course.
Thanks to all the helpers today, you always make the meeting go smoothly.
Our next meeting will be the 100m sprint on the 18th at the Ferny Grove AFL grounds Tramway st Ferny Grove. The ground is fully fenced, plenty of parking with great views of the field. We will not be fencing the 100m, only the start and finish to get the dogs to go through the timing beams, this has worked well in the past. The dogs will be run back to the start so no catchers needed.

All the Ridgebacks put in really good runs on Sunday at Wally Tate park, as this Ridgeback is doing.
The Ridgebacks are always keen to get to the start line, just ask their owners as they are pulled to the start line.

It was great to see a good turn out of Ridgebacks on Sunday at Wally Tate park and they all put in really good runs.

We were a bit late starting yesterday, mainly due to my ute deciding to go into limp mode due to one of the emission controls packing up, so had to put the bike on a trailer and tow it with another vehicle to get it to the grounds. The bike is designed to run on the ground as well as off the ute, so once there there was no problems running the bike on the field.
The emission controls have been taken off the lure coursing bike, perhaps should have done the same with the ute.
The day was a bit hot but we got one round in, then we had fun runs. It was great to see a lot of people only doing a half course for the second round fun runs.
The next meeting will be the last day run (early morning) then evening meetings after October. The dogs really enjoy the evening meetings under lights.
So quite an eventful day, but there were a lot of very good runs, I know the dogs enjoyed the day.
Thanks to all the people who came over to help set up once the bike arrived, everything was set up very quickly, so thankyou again.
