Is Your Horse Feeling Sore? 5 Signs They Need a Massage!

As horse owners, we know our horses can’t tell us when something’s wrong – but they do show us! At InBalance Equine Therapy, we help you identify the signs of discomfort and provide relief through professional horse massage therapy.

Here Are 5 Signs Your Horse Might Be Sore:

1. Behavioural Changes: Is your horse grumpy, resistant, or avoiding work they usually enjoy? This could be a sign of discomfort.

2. Gait: Limping, stiffness, or short-striding might indicate muscle tightness or soreness.

3. Sensitive to Touch: Flinching, pinning ears, or swishing their tail when you touch certain areas can signal discomfort.

4. Difficulty with Movements: Struggling with transitions, bending, or picking up leads may point to muscular tension.

5. Visible Muscle Tension: Hard, tight, or uneven muscle development could mean your horse needs some extra care.

How Massage Helps:

* Relieves tension and soreness.

* Promotes flexibility and range of motion.

* Enhances circulation and recovery.

* Boosts relaxation and overall well-being.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, a massage could make a big difference in how your horse feels and moves.

Message me to book a session and let’s get your horse feeling great again!

Stay Hydrated, Stay Healthy: Summer Tips for Your Horse!

Hot summer days can be tough on our horses, and keeping them hydrated is one of the most important ways to support their health and performance. Proper hydration is key to helping your horse feel their best – especially when combined with regular massage therapy to keep muscles loose and happy!

💧 Why Hydration Matters:
* Prevents overheating and dehydration.
* Supports muscle function and reduces the risk of cramping.
* Aids digestion and overall health.
* Helps your horse recover faster after exercise or work.

🐎 Tips for Keeping Your Horse Hydrated:
1. Fresh Water Always: Ensure your horse has access to clean, cool water at all times.
2. Salt & Electrolytes: Use a salt block or provide electrolyte supplements to encourage drinking.
3. Soak Their Feed: Add water to feeds to sneak in extra hydration.
4. Shade & Rest: Provide shady spots where your horse can escape the heat and avoid riding/exercise during peak heat hours.
5. Watch for Signs of Dehydration: Check for a slow skin pinch test, dry gums, or lethargy.

✨ Did You Know?
Hydration and massage go hand-in-hand! Proper hydration helps your horse’s muscles recover more efficiently, while massage therapy promotes circulation and reduces tension caused by dehydration or fatigue.

If you’re ready to give your horse the ultimate care this summer, contact InBalance Equine Therapy for a massage session that will leave them feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

Hello my wonderful clients and followers. As some of you are aware I live in Mariginiup and had the bushfire go right through our street. We were very lucky that our home was spared but did get a lot of damage to our fencing and stables, I’m not sure yet if they will need to be fully replaced or not. Luckily for us most of the damage was just the structures and a trailer and can be replaced. We are heartbroken to see so many friends and neighbours without homes and or valued possessions.

My wonderful neighbour who will always help out at the drop of a hat has lost her stables and everything in it including all her tack. If you can, please donate to help her get back on her feet because at times like these we all know a ride always makes you feel a little better and you need gear to do that
