This guy deserves a post all for himself!!

I’ve been clipping Manny for a few years now and this latest clip we succeeded in the half face 👏👏

Horses like him are why I love doing what I do- makes the dealing with the hair literally everywhere, the near misses and the long days on the road worth it!

So our story began a few years ago with him being very timid and unsure. He was never dangerous but easily could have gone a bit pearshaped if we pushed it. We always opted to go for less is more and this latest clip proved why time can be an amazing thing for horses. He coped so well and didn’t bat an eyelid as I started clipping his face.

I’ve watched his ridden journey and the improvement in him is absolutely phenomenal- he has matured so much physically too, he is beast like now!!

A small plaiting job this morning!!

The bay horse I did the quick method of plaiting down, rolling the plaits up and a few stitches- quick and easy! However a little wonky 🤪

Grey pony had his plaits sewn in properly which will take forever to take out- lucky its not me 😉 But as you can see sit so much nicer on the neck and less likely for the little man to rub them out!!

The time is closing in when our beloved horses grow that long coat and may need a meeting with some clippers!!!

As I enter the 11th season of clipping your hairy nags a couple of things have changed including my availability and a price change on full clips- I hate doing this and have not increased my prices for at least 5 years- unfortuneately fuel, blades and servicing is not getting cheaper!

I will be available on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for weekday appointments and Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Friday I now work- public holidays will likely be the exception.

Prices as of 4th February 2026:

Full clips (body, legs and head) $150
Full clips Shetlands and Mini’s $130

Hunter clips (body off leaving legs and half head) $120
Hunter clips Shetlands and Mini’s $110

Partial Clips (blanket, trace, chaser) $110

Mane tidy ups will depend on thickness and length
From $15-$30

Racing stables mane tidy ups- quote depending on numbers

Plaiting for comps from $40 (mane and forelock)
