Spring has officially sprung! 🌷

As we transition out of winter you might start noticing more hair around the house and coats becoming a little harder to manage..

For our heavy shedders, now is the perfect time for a deshed to help remove that loose winter undercoat before it makes its way onto your couch, clothes and every corner of the house 🤭

And for our fluffy pups, staying on top of regular grooming is just as important. Maintaining a regular grooming schedule helps prevent knots and matting from building up and keeps their coats much easier to maintain between visits! ✂️

The warmer months are usually very busy in the salon, so if your pup is due for a freshen up we recommend booking ahead rather than waiting for the first hot day! ☀️

⭐️ MEET THE TEAM ⭐️

Cheneye is one of our OG team members and has been with Alpha since the very beginning and had grown to be such a talented groomer. She loves getting creative with her grooms and isn’t afraid to try something new, usually with her standard poodle Marshall. Her passion and skills have continued to grow over the years, leading her to open her very own successful grooming business! We couldn’t be prouder of everything she’s achieved and were so lucky she still decides to spend 2 days a week with us!

And of course, an honourable mention has to go to Marshall. The two are pretty much a package deal and chances are if you’ve been to the salon, you’ve met him! He’s become a familiar (and very loved) face amongst our clients and is just as much a part of the Alpha fam as Cheneye is. 🐩🤍

🫧 Favourite salon memory?
When Brooke and I printed photos of our faces and hid them all around the salon in random spots. Brooke organised it as an “April fools” prank but ended up pranking me because the day was the 1st of May..

💜 What is your favourite part of the job?
Getting to be creative at work and do fun grooms

🤭 What is a common misconception about dog grooming?
People think its easy and doesn’t require training. It’s a skilled profession that takes a long time to get the hang of. We’re forever learning!

Since joining us in 2025, our tiny but mighty groomer has stolen our hearts! She loves every dog that walks through our doors no matter the size, even when they drag her around the salon. Caitlin is quick witted and full of personality making us laugh all day everyday. Her patience, gentle approach and attention to detail shine though in every groom. Whether it’s a quick tidy up or a full makeover she takes pride in making every dog look and feel their best. Our furry clients adore her just as much as we do!

It does change all the time, at moment chihuahuas

✂️ How long have you been in the industry?

🐾 Do you have any pets?
Albie & Molly the cavoodles, Celine the chihuahua, Robert the cat, Randall the bearded dragon & a 30 year old boyfriend

🫧 Favourite salon memory?
Even though I’ve only been at alpha for just over a year there is already so many. My favourite is when Brooke and I realised we were Kath and Kim super fans and now we can’t stop quoting the show all day everyday. And definitely when we all go a bit crazy at the end of the day and just act like idiots.

💜 What is your favourite part of the job?
When the dog I’m working on is comfortable enough to fall asleep and definitely seeing clients that have followed me to Alpha is pretty special.

🤭 What is a common misconception in dog grooming?
That its quick and easy. Every dog is different and you have to handle them all in their own different way. This job although very rewarding, can be very physically and mentally exhausting

⭐️ MEET THE TEAM ⭐️

Cas has only joined the alpha team early 2026. While being a new team member with us a few of our members were actually trained by Cas many many years ago. She is confident, loud and proud. With over 20 years experience there’s really not much she hasn’t seen or heard before in this industry. Cas is the type of groomer who just gets the job done, no fuss, no drama just solid skill and experience. She absolutely loves a deshed and there’s nothing more she loves more than seeing a dog leave feeling fresh, fluffy and ten kilos lighter in fur. Cas brings experience, confidence and a strong work ethic to the salon and we love having her a part of our Alpha team!

Rottweiler

✂️ How long have you been in the industry?

🐾 Do you have any pets?
Morgana the border collie

🫧 Favourite salon memory?
When we learnt that not many people can keep their heels on the ground while doing a deep squat so everyone dropped to the floor.

💜 What is your favourite part of the job?
I love a good deshed! Seeing the before and after and getting all of the undercoat out of a big dog is so satisfying. Seeing how happy and comfortable all the dogs are after a good grooming.

🤭 What is a common misconception in dog grooming?
That it’s glamorous job but the reality of it is we have all been pooped on, wee’d on, spat/snotted on. Any and all bodily fluids have touched our skin 🫣

⭐️ MEET THE TEAM ⭐️

Abby has been with us since mid 2023 and has quickly become an important part of the Alpha fam. She is a little pocket rocket and always ready to jump in and help wherever needed. Abby started her journey with us as a bather and through her determination and hard work, has worked her way up to becoming a groomer. She’s feisty, strong and brings her bright bubbly energy to the salon every day. Whether shes wrangling bigs dogs into the bath or giving a nervous puppy loads of cuddles, she always gives 100%. Even though she sometimes feels like a dancing tornado around the grooming tables, she never slows down when it comes to caring for the dogs in her hands.

King Charles Cavalier

Penelope the cavoodle & Felicity (flick) the cavalier

🫧 Favourite salon memory?

One day Brooke was holding a whippet for me while I was cutting his nails. The whippet kicked me so hard he knocked me over. So funny!

I love getting to know all of the clients and their dogs. Seeing all the different personalities.

🤭 What is a common misconception about dog grooming?
People think we play with dogs all day, but it’s actually a very challenging career!
