I thought I’d update you all that a beautiful little girl Darcie was born last month from that donation 💕

I am also now pregnant as a surrogate for a family here In perth

Rome was my first ever dog, my own dog, I got him when I was 18 and fresh off the boat from Nz, he’s been with me through the biggest seasons of my life, he was our baby when we thought we would never be able to have any, years of infertility he was my rock, he was also here to see me through my 21st, my engagement, my weddding, our big trip around ozzy, buying our house, welcoming both my human babies home

I’m going to take the week off, it’s a profound loss in my life and I need time, if you need to go elsewhere I understand and I’m sorry for the inconvenience

Something that surprises people is that what’s written on the front of a dog food packet doesn’t always match what’s actually in it.

A good example is “Snapper Dog Roll” — you’d assume the main ingredient is fish, but if you check the ingredients list the first ingredient is chicken.

That’s because pet foods can contain multiple proteins, even if the packaging highlights just one. Unless the packet specifically says single protein or SPD (single protein diet), expect there to be other meats included.

This becomes important when dealing with dogs with allergies. One of the most commonly reported food allergies in dogs is chicken, so I often hear people say their dog is on a fish or beef roll — but when we read the ingredients it still contains chicken (and sometimes other meats like pork).

If you’re unsure what to feed, some brands I often recommend are:
• Lyka
• Ziwi Peak
• Prime100 SPD rolls

There are plenty of good foods out there, but the biggest thing is read the labels and know exactly what you’re feeding your dog.
