Confidence doesn’t happen overnight! It’s built through small wins, positive experiences and giving our puppies the opportunity to try new things.

Our latest Puppy Preschool class learnt how to target their front feet onto an object! 🐶

It might look like a simple exercise, but this little skill has so many benefits!

🐾 Builds confidence when exploring new objects and surfaces

💪 Develops strength, balance and body awareness

🧠 Encourages problem-solving and independent thinking

🛹 Creates the foundations for some pretty cool tricks… like riding a skateboard!

It’s not always about teaching the big, flashy behaviours. Sometimes the smallest skills build the strongest foundations! 💜

This comprehensive 5-week program is designed to help puppies develop confidence, build essential life skills, and create a strong foundation for future training, all in a safe and supportive environment.

It has been so much fun watching these little pups grow in confidence, learn new skills and, of course, keep their humans on their toes 😂

Miss Evie and her mum started their training with us today, and at just 16 weeks old she’s already destined to be a big, impressive girl.

With her size, building solid loose lead foundations early is essential, so we’re starting right at the basics by creating value in her handler and teaching her that the world around her is simply a neutral backdrop.

Welcome to the MK9 family Evie, we can’t wait to watch you grow and develop.

It takes a village to raise a child… and apparently to train dogs too! 😂🐾👶

Emma is a new mum, and we’re so happy that we get to help her continue her training journey with Mando and Obi during this exciting new chapter.

Sometimes that means training the dogs, sometimes that means pushing the pram — and we’re more than happy to do both!

Having a new baby doesn’t mean all the hard work you’ve put into your dogs has to stop. It might just look a little different for a while. ❤️

We love being able to support Emma, Mando and Obi and keep everyone moving forward together!

🏆 MK9 COMP CREW BRAG POST 🏆

It’s been a busy few weeks, and we have some catching up to do with our Comp Crew brag posts!

It’s been a bit of a mixed bag lately, with our crew out competing in Sprint Dog, Showing and Obedience across Mackay, Yeppoon and Rockhampton. 🐾

We absolutely love seeing our Comp Crew getting out there, giving new things a go, chasing goals and, most importantly, having fun with their dogs. ❤️

A huge congratulations to everyone who has been out competing — whether you came home with a qualification, placing, title, ribbon, or simply walked away proud of how you and your dog performed, it all deserves celebrating! 👏

A massive thank you to all of the clubs, judges, stewards, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who make these events possible. We appreciate the time and effort that goes into giving us the opportunity to get out there and enjoy our dogs.

Now for the important part… let’s brag about our Comp Crew! 🏆🐕

A trip to Bunnings is one of our favourite activities to recommend for young pups, it’s full of new sights, sounds and experiences. To keep them safe, we always pop our puppies in the trolley, and it’s absolutely okay to say no to people wanting pats.

These outings aren’t about socialising with everyone; they’re about building value in you while navigating higher levels of distractions.

Group classes can be a fantastic way for dogs to build social exposure, but they’re definitely not where we begin.

Before stepping into a busy class environment, it’s important that both you and your dog have the skills to handle the added stress, stay focused, and actually learn.

That’s why our group classes happen at the end of your program. By the time you get there, you’ve already built the foundations, the communication, and the confidence needed to set you both up for success.

One of our favourite Puppy Preschool activities is Puppy Socialisation Bingo, which is a fun way to help little paws experience the big world.

Now, “croc spotting” definitely isn’t on the bingo card, but these legends went above and beyond and captured this amazing moment of their puppy seeing a crocodile. Talk about thinking outside the box. 🐊
