🐾 WELL… THAT’S A WRAP! 🐾

And what a bloody mammoth effort it has been. 😮‍💨😂

The last couple of weeks have been an absolute marathon — 12-hour days, dogs coming out my ears, running on caffeine, determination and at this point… pure delusion. 🤪

How I’m still functioning, I genuinely have no idea.
As you can see, things are going really well over here. 😂👌🏼

But seriously, I just want to say the BIGGEST thank you to every single one of my amazing Furbabyz families who have stuck by me through the last few weeks. For being patient while I wait for a surgery date, shuffled appointments around, squeezed everyone in, worked ridiculous hours and generally ran myself into the ground trying to get as many of your babyz done as I possibly could before surgery.

The messages, the well wishes, the understanding, the little gifts and just how bloody lovely you’ve all been… you guys are WAY too good to me. 🥹🩷

I genuinely have the best clients and the best little furry weirdos a groomer could ask for.

But for now… Furbabyz is officially CLOSED for a little while ✂️🐶

It’s time for me to evict this bloody gallbladder, put my feet up and learn how to sit still for longer than approximately 4 minutes. 😂

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. 🩷

See you on the other side sometime in October, my Furbabyz! 🐾

Wish me luck… this delulu groomer is officially clocking out. 😂✌🏼

Another Furbabyz idea brought to life by Shane 🥹🖤

I’m honestly so bloody lucky to have this man.

Furbabyz is forever evolving because apparently I’m incapable of looking at my salon and thinking “yep, that’s finished.” 😂 There’s always another idea, another purchase, another “Shane… do you reckon we could…”

My latest purchase was these new salon crates that I ordered from overseas, which of course meant the whole setup needed changing.

So Shane took my existing big timber bench, cut it in half, rebuilt it to fit the new layout, and somehow turned my latest bright idea into exactly what I had pictured. 🙌

And this definitely isn’t the first time. So much of Furbabyz has been built, changed, fixed, added to and maintained by him over the years. I come up with the ideas… he gets handed the job of figuring out how the hell to make them work. 😂

The new setup is 😘👌! the crates look amazing, and I still have my bench AND a cosy open spot underneath for the pups who’d rather chill out there.

Very lucky to have my own personal builder, mechanic, fixer, problem solver and “yes babe, I can probably make that work” man. 😂❤️

Furbabyz wouldn’t be what it is without you, Shane! 🖤

“Why does my older dog’s groom take longer?” 🐾💜

Meet this sweet old soul. ❤️

One of the biggest things I’ve learned as a groomer is that senior dogs work on their own schedule—and that’s exactly how it should be.

As our dogs age, standing for long periods becomes harder. Arthritis, sore joints, reduced muscle strength, vision loss, hearing loss, and simply getting tired much more quickly all play a part.

That means during their groom we often stop for little breaks. Sometimes they need to sit, lie down for a few minutes, have a drink, or simply catch their breath. I never rush an elderly dog just to keep to a schedule.

A groom that might take 90 minutes for a young, healthy dog can easily take 2–3 hours for a senior, not because they’re being difficult, but because they deserve patience and kindness.

If your older dog comes home looking beautiful but their appointment took a little longer than expected, please know they were being treated with the care and respect they’ve earned over a lifetime.

Growing old is a privilege, and it’s my job to make grooming as comfortable and stress-free as possible. 💜🐾

Thank you for trusting me with your golden oldies 🥰

❤️ A Little Heads Up to My Wonderful Furbabyz Family ❤️

I just wanted to give everyone a bit of notice that I’ll be having gallbladder surgery sometime within the next 1–3 months. Unfortunately I won’t know my surgery date until it’s booked, so there may be a little bit of disruption to appointments while I juggle scheduling and, if needed, reschedule some grooms at short notice.

Once I’ve had surgery, I’ll need to take around 4–6 weeks off to recover properly. As anyone who has wrestled with big fluffy dogs knows, grooming is a very physical job, and I want to make sure I heal well so I can get back to doing what I love.

I sincerely apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. I know many of your pups are on regular grooming schedules, and I’ll do everything I can to minimise any disruption. I’ll also be working hard to get everyone booked back in as soon as I’m safely able to return.

Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding and continued support. It truly means the world to me and to my little business. ❤️

I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more.

Love,
Jess 🐾

🏡 The Perfect Home Wanted for Nina 🐾

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write, and not a usual post for my page. But knowing my beautiful Furbabyz family, I know there is the perfect someone out there for her.

Anyone who knows me knows that when an animal comes into my care, they stay with me for life. Rehoming is never something I do lightly, and if I didn’t believe there was a home better suited to what Nina needs, she wouldn’t be going anywhere.

Nina is an 8-year-old Foxy cross with the sweetest little soul. She has always been an inside dog, is house trained, well behaved, and absolutely adores people. She doesn’t ask for much, just love, cuddles, and someone to be her whole world.

After her owner moved away and left her behind, she’s been a little lost. She’s adjusting, but it’s obvious she’s longing for that one special person to bond with again.

If I could hand-pick her forever home, it would be with a kind older lady or retired person who is home most of the time and would love nothing more than a little shadow to follow them everywhere. She is ok with older kids but isn’t a fan of little kids due to them being rough. Nina loves walks and beach runs, she isn’t a big barker but will absolutely let you know when someone is at the door, she would love to find a home filled with companionship, affection, and a warm spot on the couch beside her favourite person.

Knowing how I train and care for my own dogs, you can be confident she has lovely manners and is a pleasure to have around. She deserves a home where she’ll be treasured for the rest of her life.

Please understand that finding the right home is far more important than finding a home quickly. I will be very selective, and I won’t apologise for that. She has already had enough change in her life.

If you genuinely believe you could offer Nina the forever home she deserves, please send me a message telling me a little about yourself, your home, and the life you could give her.

Please note I will offer free grooms/nails for life! And would love to continue to see her. And at any point she can no longer be with her human she will always have a home here to return to.

Please share so we can find her the perfect human.

She deserves nothing less than her happily ever after. ❤️🐾
