Titer testing is the one thing that the veterinary industry should do, but usually doesn't. I KNOW that titer testing saves lives, and prevents vaccine injuries (triggering of allergies, autoimmune disease, immune system dysregulation, a range of chronic diseases, up to and including death from things like Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anemia).

It's a simple blood test that measure the levels of antibodies in the blood. If your pet still has enough antibodies, revaccination does NOTHING but expose your pet to the risk of harm.

If your pets have adequate antibodies, then those antibodies interfere with the vaccine. So these so-called 'boosters' do nothing to increase your pet's level of protection a lot of the time.

WHY?

Because the core vaccines (C3 for dogs, F3 for cats) give a LONG-LASTING IMMUNITY of at least 5-7 years, and often a whole lot longer. Sometimes lifelong!

One problem is that a lot of vets send their titer tests out to external labs, which makes them VERY expensive. I use an in-house test kit. It makes it affordable. Any vet hospital can stock and use these kits.

So it's YOUR JOB to advocate for your pets and ask your vets to get the Biogal Vaccicheck in-house test kits in, so they can give you affordable titer testing, in-house.

If your vets are not open to this, just KEEP ON ASKING - the more that everyone who loves their pets asks their vets to make these tests affordable and accessible, the better!

I'm not anti-vax. They work. They protect from these deadly diseases. There is undeniable, robust, repeated evidence that proves this. I've seen too many dogs die from parvo to not know that vaccines can save lives. And yes, there are alternatives - message me if you want to know more about that!

The bottom line is that you should ALWAYS titer before revaccinating for the core (C3 + F3) vaccines. No ifs, no buts. I wish this was taught at vet schools, and an industry-wide standard!

Have you ever titer tested your dogs? What were the results? How long did their immunity last after vaccination? How has your vet responded to requests? What do they charge? Love to hear from you in the chat.

I help animals all over the world heal and be well + happy with holistic veterinary care, kind training, and energy healing. If you want me to help your pets, message me! Zoom and in person appts available.

We'd like to clarify that the information shared in our recent post about foods for dogs was sourced from a veterinary site. We have never claimed to be vets. The key takeaway is: if you're unsure whether a human food is safe for your dog, please consult a vet.

Our intention was never to cause harm or upset anyone. We sincerely apologize for any confusion. Thank you for understanding. 🐾❤️

This ANZAC Day, let’s take a moment to remember the unsung heroes on four legs. From the loyal tracker dogs in Vietnam to the courageous messengers of WWI, these brave canines played a vital role alongside the ANZACs. Their unwavering companionship and service remind us of the enduring bond between humans and dogs:

Dogs played a significant and diverse role in World War I, serving alongside soldiers in various capacities. Here’s an overview of their contributions:

-Messenger Dogs: They were used to deliver messages across the battlefield, often under heavy fire, proving to be more reliable than human messengers in many cases.

-Sentry Dogs: These dogs worked with a single guard and were trained to warn their handlers of any unfamiliar presence, often through a growl or bark.

-Scout Dogs: Highly trained and calm, scout dogs could detect enemies up to 1,000 yards away and would silently alert soldiers to their presence.

-Casualty Dogs: Also known as ‘mercy dogs’, they were trained to locate wounded soldiers on the battlefield, carrying medical supplies and providing comfort in their last moments.

-Rat Catchers: Small dogs, often terriers, were used to control the rat populations in the trenches, which were a significant problem due to the spread of disease.

-Mascots: Dogs also served as mascots, boosting morale and providing companionship to the soldiers in the trenches.

During the war, over 16 million animals served, with dogs being highly valued for their skills and abilities. Let's take a moment to honour all the brave canines that selflessly supported our soldiers in every war we have served in.

Good Morning/Happy Monday and I hope you all had a great weekend! This week's Myth is one I hear almost every day as inquiries pour in for my service to help itchy, ye**ty dogs. When owners first start trying to deal with this on their own, the first step (after the vet recommends a prescription diet and some meds) is to seek out advice online, and usually test a great number of limited ingredient kibbles plus every "natural support" product known to mankind. When longterm improvement doesn't materialize, the next step is often to order an online allergy test - some of my own clients have had three or four by the time they get to me! One might think this is an important step, but the reality is, hair and saliva tests are simply not as reliable as we would wish.
The best step forward is an elimination diet, meaning real foods, not limited ingredient kibble, and professional guidance to help making the right choices and decisions moving forward.

This week's Myth: Hair and saliva tests are important guides for feeding the allergic/intolerant dog.

Prebiotics are so important for both people and dogs!

Many people give probiotic supplements but are you also providing prebiotics, which fuel and nourish the good bacteria?

Foods in the collage are:
✅ green-ish banana
✅ jicama
✅ apple
✅ asparagus tips
✅ barley
✅ dandelion greens
Oats are another option, not pictured.

These foods are great sources of prebiotics - which means you don't need to feed large quantities of them to receive benefits. They are important for gut health and immune function.

🦠When feeding a food that has the potential to affect gut bacteria you also have the potential to cause GI upset with gas and loose stools. More is not better and not all dogs will tolerate these foods. Each one is a test and after tested and tolerated, can be rotated in your dog's meal plan.

Morning everyone

We just wanted to give everyone the heads up that we will have a small price increase effective 1 Jan 2024. New price list will be pinned to this page in late December.

As usual, we have tried to absorb the majority of the costs so we can continue to provide high quality food at a competitive price, however, increases are out of our control and inevitible due to rising costs.

R4P packaging has also been updated and will transition over the next couple of months. The product is still the same only the containers have changed.

Once again we would like to thank our loyal customers and appreciate your continue support of our small business.

Kind regards
Jacki & Cheryl

I have just posted the new price list effective 1 August 22. Although we try to keep costs as affordable as possible, unfortunately, these annual increases from our supplier are unavoidable.
