From the outside, a hoof can appear healthy and well-balanced, but radiographs allow us to see what's happening beneath the hoof wall. They provide invaluable information about the position of the coffin bone, hoof balance and alignment, sole depth, and changes within the foot that simply can't be detected during a visual examination alone.

But before making plans, itโ€™s worth asking one simple question.

Take a few minutes to really look at your horse.
Better still, feel them.
Run your hands over their ribs, topline and hindquarters.
Stay curious about the little changesโ€”because theyโ€™re often the first clues that something has changed.

โœ… Spring is also an ideal time to review your horseโ€™s preventative healthcare.
Depending on your horseโ€™s age, workload and management, this may include vaccinations, dentistry and performing a Faecal Egg Count (FEC) to help guide strategic parasite management rather than routine blanket worming.

This horse hadnโ€™t had any dental care which had allowed his enamel points to become incredibly sharp, creating a dramatic ulcer along the inside of his cheek. Ouch! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
