Coats and under hair are on a lot of dogs hiding matting and though we as owners bush the top coat it does not lessen density and the problem continues to make our dogs look fatter than in truth they are. It’s all under coat wool or hair . Often looks great the flowing scruffy look till itching and heat causes dog to scratch and a hair cut is required as your dog scratches and can if leftmake dogs life a misery . An inch that one can’t scratch sends one mad . Book your groomer as it’s harder finding a good groomer and waiting times of there lists lengthen : Happy dog easier brushing and combing makes less work for you and a happier less Iscratchie dog as the heat is coming in fast and hot. With the rain so heavy and dogs needing to go out and the weather limiting how far one goes due to heavy down pouring gives way often to dog being a bit house bound and doing naughty things or wanting to race round and have some fun .Finding games like tug on a toy or running and fetching a toy thrown down a hall can help release the board feeling and lessen the chance of chewing furniture or shoes so include dog in inside events and a drive in the car can help. Dogs can often get hot and matted on the inside of there ears and one way to help a heavy eared dog with drop ears is to shave within the ear flap . Some groomers with pluck the ears to help with getting air into the dogs ear and this can often lessen smell and help with the dogs wax build up and lessens potential ear issues that can course the need to visit the vets to resolve the issue . Keep an eye on your dogs and cat who will share there friends with others and humidity and heavy coats can open the doors of problems . Help with a good brush and lots of water around the place .
