Animals have a wonderful way of keeping you humble.

You can study, gain qualifications and spend decades working with animals…and then one horse will come along and teach you something completely new. 😂

I think that’s one of the reasons I still love this work so much.

I've cared for horses, wildlife and pets for many years, and I'm still observing, asking questions and learning from the animals in front of me.

Sometimes the answer isn't another supplement or treatment.

Sometimes it's changing the feed.
Looking at the paddock.
Checking the saddle.
Giving the horse some time.
Or simply noticing something you hadn't noticed before.

Experience gives you knowledge, but animals teach you to keep an open mind.

And I don't think I'll ever stop learning from them. 🐴💚

🐶 Thinking about feeding your dog a raw diet? It’s not just about putting meat in the bowl.

One of the biggest misconceptions about raw feeding is that raw = meat only.

Dogs need a balanced diet. That can include a variety of raw meats, appropriate raw bones, fish, vegetables and other suitable foods — with the balance adjusted for the individual dog.

Because a growing puppy, an active working dog and an older couch-loving companion definitely don’t have identical nutritional needs!

Things like your dog’s age, size, activity level, body condition and life stage all need to be considered.

Some days around here are spent talking nutrition, packing orders and answering questions.

Other days I'm standing in a paddock looking at a horse thinking, “Now what have you done?” 😂

And somewhere in between there are horses to feed, paddocks to manage, young horses to watch grow, dogs to look after and approximately 500 other jobs that magically appear when you own animals.

I think that's part of why I enjoy talking to other animal owners so much.

I don't just study nutrition and animal health — I live it too.

I've had the good doers, the tricky ones, the older ones, the young ones, the ones that make you question everything you thought you knew…and the ones that seem determined to test your knowledge daily!

You never stop learning with animals.

And I wouldn't have it any other way. 🐴💚

After years of working with horses experiencing pain and discomfort, saddle fit is something I look at very closely.

And sometimes the horse has been trying to tell us there’s a problem for quite a while.

Things I pay attention to include:

👉 Moving away or becoming unsettled while being saddled
👉 Behaviour changes when you first get on
👉 Reluctance to go forward
👉 Saddle slipping to one side
👉 Loss of topline or uneven muscle development
👉 White hairs or patches around the saddle area

A poorly fitting saddle doesn’t just make riding uncomfortable. It can restrict natural movement, create pressure through the back and shoulders, and cause the horse to compensate elsewhere in their body.

And remember — your horse’s shape can change. Muscle development, workload, age and condition can all affect how a saddle fits over time.

This is also why I look at saddle fit as part of my Equine Touch work. Sometimes we can do all the bodywork in the world, but if we don’t address what's contributing to the discomfort, we're missing an important piece of the puzzle.

Your horse can’t say, “This saddle hurts.”

But they can certainly show you. 💚

People often ask me how I got into making supplements for horses and other animals.

The truth is, it all started with a love of animals.

When I was just 13 years old, I volunteered with a wildlife rescue group, helping care for injured birds, mammals and reptiles. Around that same time, I discovered the difference natural therapies could make when our family dog, Blossom, recovered from a long-term skin condition with the help of homeopathy. That's where my passion really began.

Over the years, I continued studying animal nutrition, homeopathy, pasture management and bodywork, while caring for my own horses and breeding Welsh Cobs here in Tasmania. I found myself searching for natural, practical solutions that genuinely worked—not just for my own animals, but for others too.

That passion eventually grew into Belinda's Natural Animal Therapies.

Nearly 18 years later, I'm still driven by the same goal: helping owners support their animals with safe, practical, natural nutrition and advice.

Every product I create and every recommendation I make is based on one simple question:

"Would I use this on my own animals?"

If the answer isn't yes, I won't recommend it.
