Congratulations to our very own Dr Tim! ⭐
We’re very excited to share that Dr Tim Ruschena has officially passed his membership exams in Veterinary Behaviour!
Tim joined our team back in 2022 and has been working hard alongside his usual vet duties to further his knowledge and skills in veterinary behaviour.
We’re now accepting appointments for behavioural cases with Tim, and we’re also happy to accept referrals from other veterinary clinics for patients needing some extra behavioural support.
Whether it’s anxiety, fear, reactivity, problematic behaviours or just a pet who isn’t quite themselves, Tim can help work through what’s going on and come up with a plan that works for both you and your pet. ❤
When he’s not at the clinic, you’ll usually find Tim travelling, at the gym, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or spending time with his partner Natasha and their Daughter.
Congratulations Tim — all that studying has finally paid off! 🎓
Interested in a behavioural consult for your pet? Give reception a call on 6331 9405 to book your appointment 🐶😺

Calling all blood donors... 🐶😺
Did you know your pet could help save another pet's life?
We're looking for some wonderful four-legged volunteers to join our Pet Donor list. It's a simple way for your pet to become a real-life hero for animals needing emergency blood transfusions.
The ideal candidate:
Dogs:
• 1–8 years old
• Over 25 kg (the bigger, the better!)
• Up to date with vaccinations
• Good temperament and happy to be handled

Cats:
• 1–8 years old.
• Over 5 kg.
• Indoor only.
• Up to date with vaccinations.
• Friendly and happy to be handled.

Blood donations are quick and safe, and your pet's donation could make all the difference for another family facing an emergency.
If you think your furry friend could become a hero, we'd love to hear from you! 💉 please give Reception a call on 6331 9405 with any questions, or to raise your expression of interest.

A very special visit from Liina and her eight puppies. 🐾
Finnish Lapphund Liina visited us with her litter of eight for their first vaccinations.
Liina was exceptionally well behaved throughout the visit, calmly keeping a watchful eye over her puppies while they were examined and vaccinated.
A very attentive mum, and a lovely family to have in the clinic.

Would you like to join the team at Animal Medical Centre?
As we open up the Frankland Street clinic we have a part time Veterinary Nurse position available for the right applicant.
At the Animal Medical Centre, our veterinary nurses are not “just” nurses. A veterinary nursing career with us means you will have the opportunity to focus on the nursing aspects you are best at, that interest you, and use all your skills (as well as some more that we can teach you!)
The successful applicant will fit in well in this busy, organised and fun team environment.
Please send your resume and covering letter to Mat Harvey at [email protected] by Friday, 28th August 2026.
Any queries, please contact Mat on (03) 6331 9405.
